We thought Kelly needed company, given her behaviour when other dogs walk by on the golf course.
She stands at the fence waiting for them to come and talk to her. When they do, she gets very excited.

No, not a birthday present.

Megs looks to be in very good condition, greyhounds make excellent pets as long as they haven't been blooded, then about the only choice is to put them down, they could never be trusted around anything smaller than themselves ..... I've seen some shocking carnage where a blooded greyhound got out of its enclosure, other greyhounds and every animal on the property .....

As far as we know, she has not been blooded.
She’s quite comfortable around small dogs & chickens.
Still working on her tolerance of cats, but she doesn’t chase anything live.
Yet to try her with a tennis ball.
Still working on familiarisation with the house & Kelly.
Very affectionate with us. Starting to relax when in the same room as Kelly. Wants to be her friend, it’s Kelly who is not sure how to react.

Absolutely fantastic Ray, I am so proud of you. Friend of ours in WA are busy writing letters and petitions to ban Greyhound racing. I love watching her dog Kevin doing the crazy greyhound zoomies. One thing is watch for Bloat and torsion of the gut. Are you on FB? Hope Joy is improving xx

We have a friend in WA that actually "borrowed" a "blooded" greyhound he is the best ever zoomie dog . I suspect Megs is starting to relax and enjoy her new family… 0230 this morning:

BTW, we have found more info on Megs’ racing career.
Five races: four stone motherless last; final one a win by six lengths. She was then retired — three months ago.
Also discovered that her trainer was suspended for three months and fined for doping a dog.
Not sure which dog was involved…
But when the two of them were outside doing ‘zoomies’ this morning, 3yo Megs was having trouble keeping up with 7yo Kelly.
I think Megs is better off with us.
