Re: Thought for Today
Love the way that one has the people in the plane that crashes change depending on their political leaning ......
Reminds me of the fence post tortoise story when someone asked a victim of the bush fires what his view of Scomo was ..... "He'd be ya typical fence post tortoise" the old timer replies ..... "Ya know he didn't get their with his own abilities, someone put him there, and now they are fighting off anyone who tries to put him back in his natural environment.
He still immediately hides when sensing any sign of trouble, but his shell is still there for all to see, yet no one is talking about who put him there, just how out of place he is and his reactions to any sort of problem he senses, even though he is so high above the rest of his kind"

Yep it did as everything else short and sweet. Not like the ones we had in NZ.

Re: Thought for Today
Even politicians have something nice to say about someone who has died, even if they were enemies when the person was alive ...... Shane Warne was a colourful character on and off the cricket field, he was known around the world as a Australian and a cricket legend .... Like anyone, he deserves respect unless he has done something serious enough to loose that right for respect .... At the moment Putin is one of those who at the moment does not deserve any respect in my book, but that's my opinion and I don't expect anyone else must have my opinion on anything ..... everyone has the right to be wrong

Re: Thought for Today
At least we now know how Ch7 & Ch2 think Australian priorities lie:
The death of a bloke who played a ball game is more important than the potential launching of World War III…
Couldn’t keep up with Ch9 or Ch10…
At least SBS News had its priorities right.
Oh, and T1, I guess “colourful character” is one way to describe a sexual predator.

Re: Thought for Today
The ball-player’s wife reckoned he had done something serious enough to lose her respect… she divorced him because he couldn’t keep it in his pants.
We have a trillion-dollar natural disaster along most of Australia’s eastern seaboard which can be fairly confidently sheeted home to climate change and Eastern Europe teetering on the brink of thermonuclear war, and the lead item on the national broadcaster’s news — and the highest rating commercial network’s news — is the bother caused to football clubs by a state funeral for a sexual predator.
Makes last year’s Oz of the Year award look like tokenism. I wonder if Rosie Batty is feeling the same…
