As scheduled we stopped in Nobby after a bit of a Cook’s tour getting from Allan through Toowoomba. Tried to take some roads less travelled but a couple of low bridges complicated things.

Rudd’s Pub in Nobby is interesting but not outstanding as far as food/service goes. Trading on its reputation I think.

We’re now set up on the oval at Maidenwell Recreation Ground next to the pub where we will have dinner tonight. We had a lovely lunch at the Trading Post opposite the pub yesterday.

Here is Erich’s drone photo of our group. Our MH on the extreme left.

No travelling for us at the moment. MH is having the dinette converted to a lounge. We had planned to be heading to the NT this winter but too much rain around, so maybe it will happen next year.

After 12 years we have finally made it to Gemtree Caravan Park in the NT. Located 70kms west of the Stuart Highway on the Plenty Highway, the road is reasonable single lane bitumen apart from about 20kms dual carriage way. The bitumen runs out a little further east on the way to the Qld border. However we will retrace our track back to the Stuart on our quest to head to Darwin, Kakadu and Litchfield. However I failed to factor in the super car races on June 14-16, so a rejig of plans is required. 😳

Glad to hear you finally got to do the NT part of the travels. I guess it's not raining up that way, it certainly has here in Grenfell. The Silo art has a swimming pool as does the free camp at the rail station.
