Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
You have been a busy lady Deborah and it has only just begun. The boys on the Jayco team are doing quite well, thought you would like to know that.
Been cold this arvo and they say tomorrow is going to be a nasty wet wild and windy ?? we'll see. Put the electric blanket on ready for me to have a shower then watch the B.O.Bikes from a nice warm bed. Goodnight everyone x

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Dot, I reckon the boys on that jayco team get better attention paid to them than the quality control at their main factory.
Hope the bed is warm enough for you tonight. Mine is warming up as I write. xxxx
The plate that was getting slumped last night, didn't drop down into the shape as much as I wanted. Tonight it's back in for a little bit longer and a little bit hotter. Fingers crossed that will do the job. As I started getting serious about glueing the bits onto the hairclips, I realised that the ones that looked best had all the pieces on each one the same. So I cut up a few more hundred bits today, to give the best effects and tomorrow they will get fired. No more sticky fingers until that lot get fired up. As I changed patterns in the glass, I made sure to cut enough to do at least one hairclip and one bracelet. That meant a minimum of 18 pieces from each different piece of sparkly dichroic glass.
I kindly cooked his nibs a chocky brownie slice with lots of fruit, nuts n oats in, to make it super healthy. He is enjoying that, so all is good. Then tonight I whipped up a chooken roast with all the trimmings. Don't think he can really complain about the catering, this week.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Deborah you are spot on re the bike team and the vans. A shame the boss doesn't recognize that vans will be around longer than his bike team. Really cold tonight and by the look of the weather map we are going to be in for it this coming week. Off to town tomorrow for physio. Right now I am heading for a hot shower and into bed so Goodnight everyone x

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Yes Dot, he had forgotten about the money he makes from the vans that supports his cyclists. He is really a nice man when you meet him and he probably doesn't need any more money, he already owns the whole town of Ngamby (well that's how it felt to us), starting with the caravan park of course. Stay warm down there xxxx
Ray
The sun did come out today, but the winds with super charged icicles was not very pleasant. The plate was ok and done, and tonight all the tiny bits for the next attempt at hairclips and bracelets are being warmed up. Bed is looking even better tonight, it's warming too.

Dot, not banned from the f**kbook site again, you radical you. Stay warm down there mate xxxx
Shirley, you missed watching the snow clouds across the lake. For quite a while it felt like we would actually get some snowfall, but the antarctic winds blew the clouds over to Barrington Tops, so no snow here. That would have been historic! Hope the trip to the Mater went well. xx
Phil, hope you are not hobbling for too long xx
Did a kiln run and spent a fair bit of the time just cloud watching. Not shivering, the kiln kept me warm. Many more tiny pieces are out from the heat and had to be washed. Tomorrow I will get more turned into hairclips and bracelets. I spent a lot of my time breaking up some broken bits, to make them into some sort of design. They are now sitting on a holey mold that is suspended about 8 inches above the kiln floor. Once the glass is molten, it will run through the hole and onto the kiln floor and make some interesting (or otherwise) patterns on the floor of the kiln. I had a couple of things fall from a curtain rod some weeks ago and they broke, but not small enough for this job. The chopped up bits of a blue vase and a red light catcher are now getting hot and will be interesting to see what it looks like in the morning.
goodnight from the frozen lair xxx

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Asleep in the chair last night. What a filthy day weather wise it has been and apparently will continue for a week or so. Got some great relief from physio yesterday, but tonight had a bad choking episode on a small piece of meat, frightened the shite out of us both. From now on no more meat of any sort for me. Brian is off to the vet tomorrow arvo for his check up. Hope all went ok at the Mater for Bruce Shirley, Show us your latest master pieces Deborah. Did one of those "Free house valuation" bloody hell have ended up blocking them from the ph and will have to block them on the computer so who knows how to do that?? Off to the shower now so goodnight everyone x Goodnight Chuck x
foot report please

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Dot, no more choking on anything. That sounds really scary for you both. Stay warm xxxx
In the howling winds that are coming off Antarctica, I went down to my shed.
Here is what I found.
This is the way it's set up in the kiln. Held up on kiln posts over a piece of fibre stuff with a hole in the middle for the liquid glass to drop through. The whole view of what it looked like with the very dark blob on the floor of the kiln. This is what's still up on top, that hasn't yet fallen through I was a bit disappointed in how dark the blob looks, so I have added some white scraps onto the base and into the pile on top as well. The kiln is set for an extra five minutes with the heat turned a bit more as well. Fingers crossed.
The rest of this freezing cold afternoon was spent with the glue pot working on some more of the bracelets and hairclips. You will see them, when I have finished them.
I am off to thaw out in bed,
night all xxx
