Good morning daily

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Good morning everyone. It's still blowing a gale here, and will continue to do so for the next day or two. So the man says. I suppose it's the same all along the east coast. I have had enough of this shi##y weather, haven't seen much sun for a while now. At least the grass isn't growing very fast now.
Good move not cladding the shed yet Bernie. I reckon the iron would be up the road a bit if you had tried.
Stay safe and dry everybody, safe travels all those out and about.
Cheers

Good morning 13c,cloudy & dry today, but very heavy looking grey clouds hanging over the lake & Newcastle, sun trying hard to break thru from the east, one can only wonder what the weather will be today.

Bernie did you use to live on the Central Coast? We lived at Noraville for 20 years before moving over here onto Lake Macquarie, Bruce was a regular visitor to Toukley since he was 4 years old, his g'parents retired to Toukley & his Dad built a weekender, very little there back in those days.

Wow, the sky has cleared heaps while I have been typing, the day is looking more promising, certainly weird weather David.

Edit: 5 mins., later, just started raining ☔️

Morning Shirley.
I did live at Bateau Bay for the three months work with BFI.
As a kid we used to go up to Toukley for holidays. We lived in the Bankstown area back then, Carol was from Revesby and I from Panania. She grew up in what was then Herne Bay now Riverwood.
Carols brother and sister live at San Remo at different locations.
Glade the sun came out for you.
Bernie.

Bernie, pouring rain now, no sun 😢😢 & we have to go to Newcastle later.

I grew up in Concord West, went to Strathfield Girls High school & Bruce lived in Homebush near North Strathfield station.

I take Jacob, 12 today to the skate park at Bateau Bay, it's on The Entrance road opposite the shopping centre, it is the best one locally if you can call that local but now he's been to an indoor one at Cardiff, $20 for 3 hours & wants me to take him to it, expensive outings with the price of fuel.

I often shop at San Remo Coles & our Dr opened a second surgery on Budgewoi road at San Remo, which we mostly attend, his other surgery is at Budgewoi.

Bernie, Shirley, my parents purchased a block at San Remo, 100 m from the lake, when it was first subdivided. I think we visited it maybe twice and wouldn't have a clue when they disposed of it.

The sun is shining in Newcastle and Kotara.

When I was growing up Warners Bay was a pi$$ant village with a shopping centre consisting of a general store. That’s it. It was a Big Deal when the PMG built a brick post office with the telephone exchange in a back room!
That made TWO shops.
😲
Oh, naturally we had a wine bar on the corner at the other end of the road. No license for on-site drinking, bottles (& flagons) only, but the outside had long benches on both frontages… always full. 😜
Went back for a look in March… didn’t recognise the place!
Big tourist centre now.
Disappointed that the old jetty built by parents out of old telegraph poles & railway sleepers has been replaced with a clean, modern steel & concrete one half the length. The old one was long so us kids could safely dive off the end into 5~6ft of water. Jump off the end of the new one and you wouldn’t get your belly button wet!
Foreshore has been developed to within an inch of its life.
Arty-farty sculptures dotted around.
Although, Sunday we wanted to have dinner out… NOWHERE open!!! We were amazed. A tourist centre that shut down at 1700 on a balmy Sunday, with the street & waterfront still packed with people!
We tried six cafes & restaurants… nada. Not even the fish & chip shop was open. Ended up buying some microwave dinners from the big Colesworth supermarket (at least that was still open!) & eating in our motel room. (Motel restaurant closed, too. 🙄)
🤔
Like the saying goes, “You can never go back.” ☹️

"tanks" here---
I forgot about the early check in, so here I am now with a wedge of Sultana loaf cake that I baked yesterday and a cuppa.
The sultana loaf was a Greens wonder pack; 1 egg, 60g soft butter, 375 ml water, set the oven at 160, bash the mixture with a wood spoon for about 3 minutes, put the mix into a loaf tin and into the oven for 45 minutes-----who would be without morning and afternoon teas for several days. "Chef Morris" recommends Greens cake mix on special for $1.75 a packet.
All clear now and 18c sitting under the mango tree in the sunshine with a book (one by PETER WATT) to read Mr. Major at my feet waiting for crumbs .
Keith.
I'm now 87 years old, having experienced another birthday, and I'm still living in WA, single (gave up looking), white hair, no teeth, no money, no worries.
I plan to have another birthday next year.
