Thought for Today

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

What else didn't they tell us? That govt really must have had no regard for us, as voters, at all. Keep 'em in the dark and feed 'em bulls##t.
And at the end of the day, who knew? Who actually knew that the egomaniacal ex PM of our country had done this?
Apart from the GG, who obviously must have known, but elected to tell nobody. How could you ever trust any of them to govern again. It just beggars belief.

No Dot, he can't be sacked. As an elected representative of his constituents, he can only resign. Unless he has broken our constitutional law. Which he hasn't. But the thing that is drawing the attention of all the fuss is that nobody knew.
By Australian law, he was legally able to do it. But the fact that they, and it must be they, elected to tell no-one, is what has pissed off a lot of people. And they should be held accountable. At the end of the day, all our elected representatives are paid by the taxpayers of Australia, and as such, we deserve to know what is going on. Not the lip service crap that they peddle us from time time.
Unfortunately past history shows that it isn't just the blue tie mob that regards us with contempt.

Another thing little known. Between calling the election and the actual election the coalition (in caretaker mode for 6 weeks) spent $600,000 EVERY HOUR of our money in grants to those that don't need it e.g. $30M to Boral who have massive profits to investigate carbon capture in southern NSW where there is no industry to capture it from ? Thats right 600K AN HOUR and they even locked Labour into stuff 2 elections into the future. Never done before and defies all conventions of caretaker government.

Gough W was sacked as the prime minister, not as a politician, the Liberal/country party took office and immediately change the law so it couldn't happen to them .......

The facts that have come out since the dismissal bordered on treason, the then GG was the queen's representative, yet conferred with Prince Charles who kept the queen in the dark about the whole thing and instead worked with the GG and Fraser https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/articl ... itlam.html
This piece shows that the GG acted on his own abuse of power to sack Whitlam before Whitlam sacked him .....

Let's face it, Aussies are so lay back that nothing really happened back then when it could have inflamed into riots and hangings, much like what happened in the USA recently, so no doubt everyone will pay this a lot of lip service and then it will all fade away .....

As to whether the Liberal Party will sack him from party membership is yet to be seen, he doesn't have many friends in the party and. now it appears he shafted on the few he had ..... Patricia Karvelas presented an interesting view on it this morning and raises the question "what if .....' \https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sbdUZJMMEV4
