Thought for Today

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Ray, unfortunately many people think becoming GF is trendy these days, I was diagnosed with celiac disease about 6 years ago after getting down to 48kg, local GP gave me a referral to specialist for colonoscopy, he told me that day that I needed to go GF & to even buy my own toaster, even a crumb of bread is harmful to you.😢😢

Yep! Agree!
It’s the Trendoids I was having a dig at.
I know several people who are genuinely allergic.

Isn't that a trend too?

Have a dig at a group and then apologise when called out?

No one goes GF as it's trendy, have ever tried GF food Ray? It is getting better these days but in the past the menu was very small and the food some what tasteless and the bread close to cardboard ....

There is a real risk as well going GF when you aren't gluten intolerant, you will soon become gluten intolerant without it being in your diet. A lot of people have varying degrees of gluten intolerance and it often doesn't really show up to a serious degree until you get older. A lot of what was blamed on irritable bowel syndrome was later properly diagnosed as gluten intolerance.

And here was me thinking it was chronic fatigue syndrome and now you tell me it's an allergic reaction .... even just thinking about it seems to send you the couch for a rest

Hmmmm…
I think I caught Brian’s (Homeless) disease quite a few years ago… 🤔😁

T1,
I did accidentally buy some gluten-free bread while travelling coupla years ago… after the first breakfast, the local pigeons and magpies ate very well. 🫢

Actually Terry Tip Top have produced white & wholemeal GF bread recently, which I do find ok as a sandwich when fresh but all the other GF bread on the market I reckon needs to be toasted to make it eatable, fresh breads & rolls are the things that I miss the most since being celiac.
