Digital cameras

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Digital cameras

Post by Loki »

Hi,
It seems to me that after a while (about a year) digital cameras seem to lose a bit of photo quality, has anyone else noticed this? The colours don't seem as good and the latitude seems to also reduce. My camera is small so I can carry it with, but it certainly wasn't cheap; one of the main reasons for purchasing it was its processing system was claimed to be so great.

I'd be interested to hear if others experience the same thing.

Anton, I have an Olympus and a Fuji. The Olympus is a pocket type camera and has taken thousands of photos over about 6-7 years. I have not noticed any difference in photo quality. The Fuji is a lot newer but likewise no noticable difference in quality

Funny you posted this thread. Did you read my mind?
I took some photos today & all the yellow was too strong but I can add some blue to correct the problem in my Paint Shop Pro program.
I was just going to read up the manual to see if I can correct it or not.
It's an Olympus VR-310.
Bought second hand so I guess you got to expect some malfunction.??

Thanks for the replies, I forgot to mention that resolution is still good, just the colours are a bit drab. I've since thought maybe the coating on the lens may be deteriorating, but that's only a guess. Fortunately digital photos can be edited, just a bit disappointing because the camera really should take a good enough photo in the first place.

Anton I can't see where you tell us what camera you have got.
I went all through my camera settings and found where my problem was.
On the Olympus VR-310 I have to set it on SC (scene) and then on LANDSCAPE.
It is now perfect.
I had it on AUTO before & was terrible.
What is the brand/model of your camera?
