Dunno about that, Dave…
The split windscreen looks original. 🤔
Maybe the headlight surrounds (de-chromed)?

And not forgetting the surfboard on the back!😁

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BApBZYzLmoI Not all splitty Kombis have poor handling, check the tacho every so often ....

Now picture a similar machine that wasn't tail heavy but had the weigh evenly distributed under the floor .... and only required forward and reverse with more torque than the over educated VW engine has so it doesn't need to drop a gear to get going out of a corner, yet has all the braking and more that you could ever want ..... I'll try to find the Tesla powered Kombi race video so you get an idea of what I mean ....

T1, I think that you missed my point. I was referring to the original configuration, bog standard, like out of the showroom type condition. Not space frame chassis with Porsche everything, or Tesla running gear.
Cheers

Yeah, I know, but I had to at least try to fly the flag a bit for the mighty Kombi  "Handles like a dog on lino" roughly covers the standard handling package ;) Our Kombi is a bit like the rally car "aim for the next point that's roughly in the direction you want to ..... and hope for the best" on wet slippy roads, but ya get a feel for it after a while .... not so much the navigator though :o
