My suggestion would be the round receptacle designed as a temporary storage system for useless stuff. The nonsense about how much water it takes to refine lithium, the dangerous processes and the health effects on those working in the industry is all part of the last ditch efforts of the petroleum industry to hold on to what they have at the moment. we heard the same sort of B/S about solar panels and wind turbines, the fact cobalt is rapidly being phased out of battery manufacture seems to be missed by these people, so does the modern methods of refining lithium ore to the end product.
As for how much weight of material is required to make a certain amount of lithium, surely anyone can see just what level of nonsense that is, every type of material refined from a raw product relies on just how concentrated the required product is in that ore seam. The fact lithium is being extracted from dumped waste product left over from other ore extraction processes is ignored along with the huge improvement in just how lithium is extracted and refined.

The fact a lot of arsenic is released while gold is refined seems to not be an issue for those that love to wear the stuff as some sort of status symbol or as a decoration doesn't seem to affect the desirability of the end product and its price on the market reflects this, so if lithium in a battery is a bad thing, then gold must be as well .......

What chemicals are used in gold extraction?
A process called “Cyanidation”, or cyanide leaching, has been the dominant gold extraction technology since the 1970s. In this process sodium cyanide, in a dilute solution of ranging from 100 ppm to 500 ppm or 0.01% to 0.05% cyanide, is used to selectively dissolve gold from ore.

Arsenic is naturally attracted to gold, usually found binding with gold or nearby, in the early days, mercury was used to bind to the gold ore (with arsenic still in the ore) and then cooked off leaving the gold behind.

The only reason I mentioned gold was to reflect on the claims about how lithium is extracted from the lithium ore. The mention of how many tonnes of material that had to be processed to get the much smaller amount of lithium isn't even close to the amount of material processed to get an ounce of gold, but no one questions that, nor the chemicals used to extract gold, yet sulphuric acid was mentioned as the dangerous chemical used in the extraction of lithium ......
