Raining here at Murphy's Creek, annabranch of the Murray. Found this out when finally read the sign here- not actually at the Murray Rv. We had CFS as well as Police driving around here about 3pm warning that there was a bush fire the "other side of the Murray" & might be a good idea to start packing up.

Just goes to prove that Campers do not read signs, even the informative ones

Jon & Kay, worst part is that I did read it the day we got here but apparently the words did not penetrate

Well the Easter weekend idiots can do their best now as I am tucked away in my little spot on my own.
Beautiful night with a lovely red sky just before sunset.
I found out today that I will have double headed steam going past my bus in a night run so hopefully some good shots. A K class and a J class for any steam buffs.
Might go up to the bridge just down the track and get them going over that so will get shots up showing the fire in the fireboxes against the night sky. Three runs tomorrow and two every other day so plenty of photo options.
Ah the joys of bush camping

Brian can you go for a short walk out to the West behind the trees and tell me if that dam is on private property or not please?
If you can get to it check out if there's any signs of yabby burrows around the edges.
Does look a nice spot you have there!!

Not sure which one you are talking about. All of the dams you see are on private land and not sure if we con go on so will ask. here is the area.

Plenty of Bunnies though. Checked the burrows out last night and they were all working and there are diggings everywhere.

OH for road kill stew EH. Might have to get Dot to look away though.

Absolutely brilliant for me, might be boring for others but being a steam nut it can't be better. Track patrol has gone past both ways so about 11:00 first train so getting ready to sit out on the line and gets some photos for my collection.

One of these sites that are not for the normal travelers and cant be put on their little web sites as you have to be a member or with a member to get onto the land.

Do I have any friends now

Brian I was referring to this one.

Yes it does look like it's on private land. Best not upset the locals.
Years ago just about every railway siding had a reservoir for topping up steam trains & I thought it may have been one.
Might need a bang stick (22?) or some ferrets to grab a bunny as steel traps are banned now days.

Don't tell the bunnies about the ban will you  .

I don't have a bang stick so perhaps a mooning will frighten them to death.

Yep me things a stew coming up if I can get some volunteers to jump in the pot.

First train has gone through so the fun starts and I am still getting organised.

The things we have to do, but then someone has to do it I suppose to keep you folks at home in the spirit and keep the urge to travel alive.

Will go and check the dam for you and see what is there.

Brian.

Nope not enough water for anything plus a high barb wire fence to get over so I think it is out for me.

Will be going down to the bridge later so will see if there is any water still in the creek as it would be standing water only I think.

I will try some gold panning later in the week as it WAS a very productive gold area and there has been reports of good finds in the area of the bridge.

Might strike it rich Eh and wont need the lotto win. Just need a bit more to top up the bank balance and then I have a few wish lists and I will be happy.
