Hi, all.
We left Boonah, which is a great little town, last Sunday and drove into inclement weather, electing to pass Rosevale, and dashed headlong to Atkinson Dam, arriving last night. Only stopped a couple of times including Fernvale where Snowflakes had her monthly topup of diesel. FYI the servo was amenable to free camping out back, but we didn't have time to spare. You know how it is.
Atkinson Dam has a pretty grungy campsite, featured on WikiCamps but not on Camping #6 and charge a bit for a powered site, but after catching up on laundry and sleep we're moving to a nonpowered site right next to the lake. Great (feathered) birdlife, and really quiet.
Adminperson - inclement weather is not a town, OK?
Point of interest, Boonah has one auto electrician, whose nickname is Billionaire Bob. Apparently the owner of a beautifully restored Mustang stopped in with indicator probs and it took 3hrs at $90 per hour to find the blown fuse.
Gave Mrs shonky a twin tub washing machine for her birthday. Who says romance is dead.
Atkinson Dam, recuperating.

Don't doubt Billionaire Bob's skill, it took me years to find all the fuse boxes on my Corvette

Hi, all
Wilbor - just met a fellow motorhomer who decided his 12v and 24v wiring had some problems and decided to go to Billionaire Bob. Bob worked on it for two hours and his apprentice one and a half and then charged $1000. When asked why so much Bob's reply was "that's what it cost". Note Bob only used 3mm wire for the entire job, including the battery cables. Should have checked the job before he left Boonah. He got home OK then personally replaced all Bob"s wiring with heavier stuff.

Yes, unfortunately there are a lot of "billionaire Bob's" around & are most willing to let you slide a few more $$$$$ into their vault ........ if you're willing!
I must admit I'm one of those tight-a*****s that these sort of people have a lot of trouble trying to even get a look at my skinny wallet!!!
Good to see you moving around Shonky........
Are all your Dr's jobs done with & no more ties left?
I'd love to see you down this way some time soon although at a fill per month we'd better pass the hat around I reckon!!!
I reckon Mrs Shonky would get along fine with Mrs AdminPerson!!

Re BB,
Thats why you need to get a written quote, but to me the BB's of this world will not be interested in putting a quote in writing.

Hi, all.
Adminperson - we've been flat out establishing a new speed record for Currimundi to Gympie and back in two and a half weeks, and already planning our trip to Narrabri. After house-sitting in Currimundi from May to August there'll be six weeks open for the trip south and we'll be rested up for it. At 100km a week it will just be achievable.
The quack wants me back every quarter for a checkup - after the next two visits I'lll be going elsewhere in more than one way.
For the curious we're still on one tankful a month - around 15km per day.
Almost forgot - we returned the Bushmonster and got our money back. Very nice of them.
So where are you domiciled, and have you a long flat driveway??
