Can you tace out where the supply to the internal circuit breaker it/ does that have full battery voltage? Is there a good earth connection?

Better take it to someone who does understand. Hard to find an answer if you do not understand electrics. Seek out someone that does. It will cost thou. 8-)

Problem solved by Bruce - aka Mr Macca - it was the fuse at the back of the cassette compartment.

Bruce said check the fuse.

I said already did & it was fine but went & had another look... & the contacts were covered in a white powdery stuff so the contact wasn't... contacting that is. Didn't notice is the first time I pulled the fuse as was holding it by the contacts & checking that the fuse hadn't blown. DOH!! :oops:
