Well, ABOUT to be…

Post by Greynomad »

Tomorrow we head off in the general direction of North.
Ultimate destination is The Bunker in Dysart.

This will be our first serious trip in the new combo.
Penola was the shakedown trip.

We're also hoping to compare the MU-X's off-road performance with the late lamented Jim the Junior Jeep. :D
Regards & God bless,
Ray

Safe and trouble free trip, hope the girls enjoy the trip as well, Tanks will make the girls welcome so much so that you may not get them back , Greys are such great dogs and the perfect companion dog. Look forward to your adventures up north and remember the pics please.

Jim is still performing its duty as a heavy caravan mover to get them in and out of the workshop, seeing a 4.5 tonne caravan hanging off the towball really is a comical site, almost "dangles the Dunlops" on the front sometimes making steering on the gravel interesting, but no problem as far as actually moving it.
It's a shame for you that the Suzuki dealership didn't do any of the transmission services properly and a shame it damaged the transmission, but a real win for us 8-)
Might be a good warning to others to take their vehicle to a transmission specialist for servicing rather than the dealership. An expert knows what to do and what to check, the apprentice at the dealership knows what the drain plug looks like ......

I’ll remember that, T1. 😢
Currently on our second night in Condobolin, at Gum Bend Lake campground.
First night OTR was at Ardlethan’s free campground, with 12hrs of power for $2.00!
We must have piggybacked on someone else’s $2, because we had almost 20hrs after I donated my $2… 😀
Tomorrow the target is Nyngan.
Order is ar$eabout, but top pic is Gum Bend Lake, bottom pic is Ardlethan.
We have to be home by 30 April, as I have a medical appointment soon after.

Ray that camp ground is where we had a fantastic gathering and all the fun. The pub / club put on a good meal and also a bus pick up drop off if you have trouble walking ..

Arrived in Nyngan ‘sarvo.
Dropped anchor at the Nyngan Weir campground.
Nothing to write home about.
Very few level sites, unisex dunny (ONE!) & the weir water — which is a bit scungy.
Had it been a bit more inviting, we would have stayed two days. We’re bu%%ering off asap tomorrow.
May’s Bend, 10km north of Bourke is much more pleasant. We’ll stay our two days there.
