This is a hidden Gem of a town. the camping spot at Sandy point is terrific. Only toilets fresh water is available in town. Good for 3 days. Lots to see and do around town at reasonable cost. First loeft over the bridge from Sturt Highway.

We have visited Sandy Point several times, a nice spot but we have had a mice plague, swarms of mossies and a fly epidemic on three seperate visits otherwise a friendly place

Peter did you check out the toilets/showers behind/alongside the tourist centre in Hay?
It's up a side street to the west of the main.
The day I was there the cleaning lady was doing her stuff & informed me it was closing (usually) around 6PM but if I wanted to shower, etc she'd come back & lock up at 9-10PM.
Free hot shower......... you don't get that often!!!
So all you whiz-bangs, tent carrying push-bikies etc can save gas & water if so desired.

A couple of years ago there was a very good pizza place in Hay I walked into town from Sandy point and returned with the pizza one of the best we have ever eaten.

Last year on way to Kerang was the 3rd time we have stopped there & there was a mice plague- as there was everywhere. We were catching at least 6 in traps under the bonnet both nights we were there. They were revolting.
Time is passing too quickly so live life to the full with your spouse/partner while you still have she/he by your side.
