Re: AS3001 update.
I read this in a Facebook post. It would seem to make our T1 system illegal. BS, in our opinion.

Re: AS3001 update.
Changes are generally not retrospective.
One reason why I got the bus officially registered as a motor home with all the changes done to the current (at the time) standard.

Re: AS3001 update.
I believe that it will only become retrospective in November this year. Until then, the transition period will apply.
Anyone with an earlier built system should have nothing to be concerned about. If you have a T1 system, you have even less to be concerned about.

Dave,
"I believe that it will only become retrospective in November this year."
what do you mean by retrospective? That all Li battery installs must comply?

Re: AS3001 update.
Jd, sorry, probably a bad choice of wording by me.
Maybe what I should have said was, that all systems installed from November 2023 must comply to the new standard. But, that is only what I think it means. I haven't actually seen the new standard yet. Only the overview.
Regardless of all that, if you have a .....Pick a name... system in your vehicle that complied with the previous version of AS3001at the time of the install, then it complies/complied with the relevant standard at the time. And you have no need to be concerned.

Re: AS3001 update.
Thanks. That's what I thought.
So, don't throw out your old electrical certificates. Proof to the RWC and engineers that the system was installed and approved prior to the new standard.

I haven't ever on any of the six motorhomes including the one I have now had a electrical certificate, and maybe because I don't have to go over the pits and you do is the difference?
