Our generic Chinese heater has been showing error R8 after a hour running.
I know E8 is fuel or air in line. Our current outside temperature is 10c.
Any help appreciated cheers Robert

Re: Diesal Heater Problem
Diesel heater forum might help you. Always pays to have a genny at the ready. Also "the grey Nomads forum" has a diesel heater section for woes.

Re: Diesal Heater Problem
Even thou it is a R8 error the heater forum suggest airlock or leaking line. Problem being the nerves in my back giving me crap. The left side is now as bad as the right and going to be a cold night. Sleep well Dot cheers Robert

Re: Diesal Heater Problem
It will be an E 08 error, some of the controllers display ER-8, some E08, some er -08. If the fuel tank is low it may be that you have an air leak in the fuel line. You need to check all the rubberhose connections and make sure none are loose or cracked/perished, as it takes an hour or so I would start at the tank end rather than the heater end.
I've also had an 8 error due to low voltage which others have reported happening.
While you are checking underneath make sure that both inlet and exhaust are free and clear and the exhaust is running downhill ALL the way from the heater to the end as it could be condensation buildup after an hour or so too which would block or restrict the exhaust causing the heater to malfunction.

Re: Diesal Heater Problem
The heater in our Hino had that problem a few yrs back, turned out the heater exhaust had melted the fuel line.
Just finish installing a diesel heater in the Mazda, $120 local pick up here in Melbourne, how do they do it for the money. Mounted in the front on the wall in front of Margaret's feet with the outside pipes coming out behind the front grille. Gotta get all the front bits to fit back on now, but the heater sure is warm ...... I thought the instructions in the first one we bought were hard to follow, I reckon these instructions were written by someone who read the first heater's instructions and converted them to Chinese and then back to English, so programming the controller has been an interesting experience that will be an on going adventure for mths to come.

Re: Diesal Heater Problem
At the moment, leaving in a few days. Spent the last week or more at a friend's place recovering from what ever the illness that is doing the rounds down here, while trying to get all the info together for the insurance claims .... just trying to remember what stock and tools were in there was hard enough, but tracking down replacement costs and adding links to where these prices were determined from added a real challenge, none of it can be sourced from overseas, it must all be stocked and sold by an Australian suppliers ....... just part of the fall out from the whole Covid thing breaking up the world market thing and overseas suppliers not being subject to Aust consumer laws ...... the insurance people put these rules in place this yr when applying for our policies and that more than doubled the premiums, now they are going to feel the backlash
