We are in Underbool at a great little free/donation rest stop, showers and power available if needed, but the vans parked around the power pole don't need or are not plugged into the power so I can't even plug a charger in for the poor batteries. No more output from the altrnator unfortunately, I think the high load combined with the heat from the slipping belt has been all too much for it and it has gone to alternator heaven.
The batteries are down to 16% tonight, I'll need to put the solar panels out tomorrow to get a bit back in so we can continue our trip to Dottie's place. At least the tyre is still round even at trhe bottom ;)

we had an uneventful trip from Castlemaine to Charlton on Thursday afternoon, John and Shirley rolled up in the bus on the opposite bank of the river this morning at the remains of the old caravan park, they didn't need power so they came over to the free camp side instead. What great set up Charlton has, all the way from an on suite style caravan park at $25 per night, a power and water caravan park at $12 per night, and free area with water, all with vans in them, a range for all, and an easy to get to dump site, thumbs up to the forward thinking council there.

Things returned to normal today, the alternator threw in the towel again, the engine over heated and I managed to par boil my hand when the cap let go, the air con threw in the towel and the house batteries are now on the knees begging for mercy, the joys of travelling

What about a swap? A nice little Mazda bus would suit you two much better. Now George has finished the Fuso and Norman's fit oit he'll get bored if he doesn't have something to do... there is always something to do on the Mazda

Terry on the way back to my home base I saw what looked like an abandoned Mazda motorhome parked on the side of the road.
Chuck or Bruce would have gone past it as well I suspect?
It had obviously been there for some time & someone had smashed the back window.
I thought about turning around and making some enquiries and now I'm wishing I did.
If it was cheap you could maybe make a goodone out of both!
Let me know if you want me to find out details?
Sounds like you need a twin belt drive on a 100A alternator? Does yours have the vacuum pump on the end of it?
I have a friend here who could fix yours for nothing I reckon.
I wished I left my genny with you........ I never use it anymore.
Hang in there.... things can only get better!!

We did make the offer Dot.
He could have told the man to shove the Geni where it hurt and advised him the power of RV Forums to his name and put out the panels each day LOL.
No sun today but only went down 20 AH so if that keeps up for another 12 days I might have to get the geni out .
