Attaching solar to the RV roof
Re: Attaching solar to the RV roof
Thanks Bob I also have rivnuts
...but not going down that track...I have no room to do anything up there, the panels just fit, they will be pit up complete with the angle aluminum, I'm working one out...no room for two. And its going to be a difficult job. I will be moving the trestles a bit...a feat in itself.

Re: Attaching solar to the RV roof
Thinking of adding two panels to the front slope of the van. Because of the weight I would like to use the light flexible panels.
Any advise on how to fix them to the van would be appreciated. Robert

Re: Attaching solar to the RV roof
Unless you plan to pay the big $$ for the European ones from the likes of Solar4RV, the best idea would be to tie them on a string and fly them like a flag .... if you get 12mths out of the evilbay cheapies, you have done better than most. You can get one to survive if you provide enough heat escape under them, but as soon as you link them to another panel in parallel, the weakest one/s will fail ... haven't tried in series but the poor connection method used in the grid under the modules I'm guessing would arc across and fail after a few mths ....RobertNotBob wrote: ↑Fri Jul 07, 2023 7:47 am Thinking of adding two panels to the front slope of the van.
