Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Very quiet day, got up late, G went to help AJ lift some stuff, I watched the Adelaide 500 for a while then rang my friend in NZ for a couple of hours. Had tea (soup and toast) did 2 loads of washing, had shower now watching the Under Investigation show, bloody hell how disgusting are out pollies? No more voting for me and bugger the consequences, I won't vote for any of the lying SOB after watching this show. Have got some plump raspberries on the canes today, they will e frozen and hopefully made into jam. Hope the sickies are improving. Goodnight everyone x

Dot, you could always do an informal vote. Just show up and return a scribbled on piece of paper. Never leave it blank, someone may fill it in for you! I have been tempted to write the number 96 on each square to show how shit they really have become. xxxx
Did a huge grocery shop yesterday and that was tiring enough for the rest of the day to be resting. Today we did the podiatrist visit. PITA having all the medical stuff that has to be done this time of the year. After that we did a hammer shop visit and that was enough for the day too. It's very warm at the moment and we have even had a few sprinkles of rain. We are expecting real rain for the next few days. That will be nice.
With all the things that have been happening next door, our own yard has suffered. Hoping to get some work sorted soon to bring it back to looking a bit more loved.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Today was up early again. Had work to do and that was helping (organizing) Mr G.
We raked 3 trailer loads of the old mulch off 3/4 of the front yard, hoping for some rain to soak into the dry powdery ground. Got the garden man to pop around to show him what we needed from him. He is bringing his digger thing and scraping about 4 inches of dirt off and replacing it with good stuff, chucking the poo and clay breaker around before the new mulch goes on top and hoping like hell for the rain we are supposed to get. AJ turned up for her shower at 4pm , she had been treating in Adelaide and was knackered. Tomorrow G is going to help her unload a small truck load of pot plants so he will get a free treatment
. I had to ring my M8 in NZ, had a funny feeling , she had been for some heart tests and is awaiting appointment with heart surgeon. I got cranky because from her symptoms she could drop dead any minute, I rang AJ and she came back here and I rang Sue again for AJ to speak to her. She was shocked that Sue had not heard from anyone re her condition after 3 weeks so I made her promise she would ring her GP urgently in the morning and more or less demand he do something or else if he passes her off she is to ring amb tell them she has chest pain again and to go to hosp under Dr Wong, heart surgeon in Auckland OR send her over to the Prince Alfred in Melb asap. She said there are no surgeons over there. She has the $$ now so unless she wants to die rich then spend it over here and get better. Think we got through to her. I am scared for her. OK enough sick stuff, More medical crap Deborah, seems that is all we do these days isn't it? More garden work tomorrow then for a well deserved rest, back to city Wednesday. I put the lamb shanks in the slow cooker this morning and had lovely fall off the bone meat at 7pm. Yummo. Time for bed e buys so Goodnight everyone x

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Wow we had some wonderful rain over night, did the ground great, just about finished the front. The thunder and lightening was a spooky thing for baby Brian, he hid under the blankets. I rang M8 in NZ and she took me seriously, she called her GP and voiced her concerns plus I flicked an email off to the cardiology unit and a particular cardiac surgeon requesting he have a consult with her as her GP will be writing to him. If he can not see her for surgery then would he request an appointment for her over here (Melb) at the Alfred hosp. Their health system is so much worse than here even her GP said too many people are dying with the same diagnosis as Sue because of specialists shortage AND the importation of overseas immigrants. As I always say when it comes to your health, ask for what you want / need. I learnt from working with the big wigs in the medical profession, they think their shite doesn't stink but it does and they are no better than you and I are. Off to the city tomorrow. Hope all the sickies are doing well. Goodnight everyone x

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
You are a caring mate Dot. Hope the NZ connection gets the treatment that she deserves, just like everyone else should get. It would be nice to have a mate to intervene, especially if she gets treated asap. xxxx
We have had a fairly wet sort of day and the rest of the rain is really soaking in tonight. With all the water falling, it was an inside day for us. I wasted a ton of time trying to sort out the electricity for our tenant. We had to put the account in our name when the previous tenant closed here account. When new tenant tried to open a new account (with a different company) she was told they couldn't help her while the account was already open. Today I tried to close our account and was told that it's already closed, as of last Friday. I didn't do that, so how come? No real answers. I told the electricity mob to leave the account closed and send us a final bill thanks. Poor tenant then spent just as long, trying to connect it into her name. We think it has finally been sorted, but who knows?
Nothing else to share, so night all xxx

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Hi Deb,
Commiserations on your electricity saga…
SiL had a similar fun time when her husband died.
Went to VicRoads to cancel his driver's licence, and her boat licence, as she was selling his (largish) fishing boat.
Two years later, revisited VicRoads to re-start her boat licence, as she had bought a dinghy to use on Port Philip Bay again.
Presented her driving licence as ID, only to be told she had cancelled it two years ago!
However, her (deceased) HUSBAND'S licence was still current.
Good thing she's a careful driver, as she had been driving unlicenced for two years.
Took three hours and consultation with a senior manager to sort things out.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
This morning there was an email from the cardiac surgeon I wrote to saying , "Dr Wong would he pleased to have a consult with Sue and all he wanted was the ref letter from her GP " which will be done Friday, I also asked the Dr to let Sue have either an urgent or cancelled appointment and agreed
Happy as a pig in poop and so is Sue. I must admit to a bit of name dropping. Mentioned I worked with the Northland surgeon some years ago. Use whatever you can to get results.
Headed to town this morning for an appointment and on the way home we ordered something I will show you in 2 weeks.
Raspberries are raspberrying and they will be going into the freezer ready to make jam. . The rain we had actually soaked into the lawn and also left some sizeable puddles. It is great dealing with companies isn't it Deborah??
Only one more day left to finish the garden (dirt) clearing then the man can do his thing. Off for a nice hot bath now so stay safe on the roads and all the sickies feeling better. Goodnight everyone x

Dot, good to see your email had the desired effect. Hope your NZ mate gets the best treatment. xxxx
Ray, seems like I didn't have such a bad event with the bureaucracy. I think your SIL managed it much better than I would have done.
Today's storm gave us a little bit of a blackout. Well a short half hour in darkness was not so bad, but that is why we put in the solar system with backup battery. I am really getting pinged off with LG for not communicating with us about how they intend to help us with their battery that is not safe to use and has been disconnected. I still am not sure if they disconnected the battery for our safety or to protect their arses. I guess that will be another bureaucrat who will get the wrath of my anger.
As well as dealing with storms, we had the washing machine finally die. It's only 23 years old and had it's last service 20 years ago. No whirlpool parts in the country, so we have ordered a replacement washing machine. It's the same big, industrial washing machine that is in all the caravan parks. That's what is coming soon. Hopefully, we won't need another service person for washing machines again.

Goodnight Dot & good morning, had an early night, last night.
Deborah, the predicted severe thunder / lightning storm was short lived here, N/W strong wind & heavy rain for a short period & it had moved up the lake, still had the thunder/ lightning for awhile, actually was hoping we didn’t get a blackout was cooking a roast dinner.
