Today, my Claytons daughter (copper in NZ) is over here to look after her sister when she gets out of hosp after she had her lung cancer surgery done this arvo (in Brisbane) So far all good but Debbie has no word on what was found or done she will know tomorrow but looks good so far :D Have just spoken to my M8 in NZ she saw some learner Dr about her heart problems, she is not happy at all, he didn't look at any of her test results and told her her BP was the problem WTF he didn't even listen to her chest and her BP was a tad high but nothing newfor her. All he did was tell her he was changing her BP meds for 6 weeks, took no notice of her when she told him she had been on them prev. Told her to ring the specialist and pay the $700 to have a consult with him. Her other op will not go ahead until her heart problems are sorted before the big court case in May. Back to the same BS she is having with the legal system. This is the last straw for her and she told this ?Dr she was sick of the old boys clubs and kickbacks. he he she is a goer when you cross her. Monday she will be contacting the specialist direct. Apart from that I did some watering of the grass and shrubs , got sunburnt a bit. G 's tooth less mouth looks terrible so Monday also is ring the numb nut dentist that thought this was a good idea. Deborah our benefits are extras start financial yr and hosp is from when you joined. . Time for a destink shower so Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight jd x :D

Fingers are all crossed for your kiwi mate and the claytons daughters. Sounds like the kiwi is still getting the run around. That's just not acceptable. You take it easy too Dot xxxx

It's still hot n humid and yucko here, but we're surviving it ok. Bad luck about the power bill, the aircon is doing great.

Shirley mentioned the Elvis festival at Parkes (in the morning post). We have done that one and really it is a festival well worth going to. I wasn't really an Elvis fan, but it didn't stop us from having a great time. The whole town gets into the theme, even to the cake shop selling Elvis donuts (decorated with the Elvis snarl). Every street corner and pub/club had acts going for the whole week. Definitely one for your bucket lists if you haven't already been.
Shirley, welcome back to flinging those balls around and enjoy the action.

I had a loss in the kiln today. The recooked piece was just dull and horrible, I put it down to suffering from thermal shock from all the weird firings that it has endured. Then tonight, we were watching a show with Tim Allen, the toolman , and he was showing how glass is made. They went to a factory where the glass was in a huge kiln (no I didn't have kiln envy. The kiln was bigger than my shed) . They had the glass heated up to 1000C and opened the lid, to let the cold air in. Initially nothing, then the glass started to ping and crack. Then it broke into billions of shards. It was the best way of explaining thermal shock that I could imagine. It even had his lordship amazed. Then he found another show on making toilet paper. Truly it's a weird place here, some nights, but foxtel was interesting. We were both amazed at just how much toilet paper is made in a day in Britain and the claim that we all use roughly a hundred rolls of dunny paper per year. No wonder we panic buy...

Deb, that didn't explain how glass is made. :)

"Glass is made from natural and abundant raw materials (sand, soda ash and limestone) that are melted at high temperature to form a new material: glass."

Got a message from Clayton's daughter Debbie to tell me Claytons daughter Mandy had a good night and she was on her way to see her sister. Then an hr later another message to say Mandy was up walking around, had a light breakfast and may be going home in a couple of days, how tough are my girls hey? Shortly after a message from Mandy saying all her tubes are out and she was told the cancer wasn't as bad as the last time, so she is happy with that news. The birds told me there was something they didn't like so after looking here and there, there he was, a blue tongue I put a saucer of water for it then it headed off to parts unknown. Going around to AJ's for a treatment in the morning and boy do I need one. Lawn mowed and watered and the garden is looking very nice if I do say so myself, got to spray for black spot though. Brian is liking being home, able to come and go as he wishes and to sleep wherever he wants after being confined to the bus for 2 weeks. Bedtime so Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Peter and Sandra x :D

Sort of a mixed busy day, G went to look at a couple of chairs for the bus but they were the next size up from outs and one had a roughly done patch up job on one of the head rest, being leather and Stressless to get it repaired it would cost more to repair the repair than to get a new chair (just about) = no chairs. Then G was to go and pick up another model plane for Ozfueler (Steve) but the guy was going to the drags at the Bend so now that is set for tomorrow. Then off to AJ's to look at the absolute crap job the "man of many talents" we also had. She rang the guy and said she was not pleased at what he did compared to what he was told to do, he was a tad unhappy, but she demanded a full refund and he agreed. Go AJ. Then some visitors namely Robert not Bob and Molly arrived to pick up the Glass Xmas tree jar er picked up for them. No treatment for me today as other stuff going on so Wednesday I get treatment. Hope everyone is doing well. Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Paramountcruiser x :D

Dot, sounds like one lady is good to go and now you better concentrate on the heart specialist in NZ. Sounds like a mob of lazy drop kicks to me. Stay sane mate xxxx

Picky picky, of course you are correct George. The thing I was watching was more how they turn the ready made glass into humungous window sized pieces...all a matter of semantics, but you are still correct.

We had all the family come for a visit today, so it has been a bit stressy preparing and planning. It all went well, so must have been worth getting the note pads out with the plans and menu options etc. This morning started out rainy and I was not happy. By the time they all arrived, the rain had stopped. We were able to eat outside on the verandah, so that made me more relaxed and happy.
Almost as soon as both families left, the rain returned. They each live on opposite sides of Sydney and both managed to beat the rain all the way home. That made it even better. We certainly have had some fairly heavy falls.

I think tomorrow will be a rest day

My girl Mandy had a good night's sleep and is doing well. Her sister Debbie (the kiwi cop) is over here looking after her big sister. Luckily Debbie is a clean freak Opposite to Mandy and to top it off she was a chef in the Navy so lucky Mandy has a live in cleaner and personal cook . Did nothing much today apart from rescuing one of AJ's sox from my washing machine and planting a couple of plants from AJ. Had a nice ham and salad for tea tonight and trifle for pudding, yummo. Another hot day expected tomorrow so not much to be done outside by me, George is much better with the heat than me. Hope everyone on the sick list is feeling better. Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight RossP x :D

I'm getting in early, just in case.
How's AJ's garden going Dot?
What did the glass do today Deborah? I hope that it can learn to co-operate for you. I would love to actually see some of your work I don't think your pics do it justice.
One day we might be lucky enough to wander into that market that you are working.

I am also getting in early tonight, Got up very late today, could not wake up at all. Even the boys on bikes could not wake me up. AJ's garden well!!!! all the guy did after being told exactly what she wanted and we sprayed red paint on everything that had to go etc All he did was rotary hoe all the grass Kikua ? "spelling" and spread soil conditioner over the top, did not take the rubbish just piled it into a pile near the fence. Needless to say the grass poked it'd head straight through. Cost her nearly a grand. Told her to complain and oh did she complain, he offered her a discount but she said she wanted a full refund of which she got. Now we have to find someone else but contacted 2 landscapers today. George is going to do some more whipper snippering tomorrow while I have a treatment. My Claytons girls are doing fine. My NZ M8 has made an appointment with the cardiac surgeon this week. We have had a couple of rain showers tonight which cooled things down nicely. Beautiful lamb shanks for tea tonight, they were in the slow cooker for 13 hrs  Ok hope everyone is being good and staying happy and healthy, awaiting departure for T1. Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Tanks x :D

Oh boy Dot, you need to slow down sometimes too mate. Fingers crossed that the heart surgeon does the right thing for your mate and soon. xxxx

David, thanks for your confidence in my crazy stuff. Sometimes I do get a flop, like this week. But I reckon we will cross paths eventually.xx

I have a lady coming to look at the old kiln that's for sale. So yesterday, when she was meant to be coming, I cleaned off the all the kiln shelves and ran the controller, to check it all works still. Yep that was good. She sent me a text message late to say she couldn't come and will definitely come Thursday morning.
I was about to start some actual kiln things for myself and the phone rang. The new air conditioner for my shed has arrived early and they want to install it tomorrow....oh SH**. Packed the old kiln into a corner and pushed the other two as far out of the way as I could manage. The shelf that is under the old beast was full of molds and shapes to flop glass over in the kiln. That is all now everywhere on my bench space. The place looks like a tip, so I am now hoping like hell that the installers don't cancel out on me.

His lordship was not impressed, because he has to move a lot of garden waste that he has shoved in behind the shed and all sorts of crap had to be moved out the way. Seems like a great way to get some cleaning done around the shed!. All good, all I need now is the installers.
