We have 30sq m of fake grass at our front door and have done for approx 20 years. It must be a better product than that being discussed as, despite the outside temperature being 33* at the moment, the grass is quite cool.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Thanks for the grass info, guess it is a no go. Today we dead headed the mini aggies, planted the "special" pumpkin seeds AJ gave us lets see it I can keep these going to produce something. Sprayed some weeds and that's about it for me today. Watching the tennis, strange that Jokka is out but the young guys are coming through so I reckon he should go while he is sort of on top. Talk about Aust day and the green sheds sausage sizzles, one of the forum members who does them said they were NOT permitted to put Australian flags up WTF ?? If that is not suppression /bullying to fly your countries flag then what is?? What is going on with this country??? Q/ Which country owns the big green shed?I am off for a nice long shower now so take care everyone, Goodnight one and all x
Goodnight Bernie x

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Dot, George has a good point. We also have a patch of fake grass at our front door. It gets no direct sunlight on it and it seems to be less horrible than the stuff we had out in the sunlight. So maybe, the difference to look at, would be how much direct light does that patch get? Good luck with that one xxxx
Well it has been a real stinker today. The mercury did get to 41 last time I looked. Then much later in the afternoon, a nice blustery coolish wind blew up. Temp dropped enough for me to go to look at the kiln. The blob is still a blob, needed more time, so it's getting it now. I took the hammer and a screw driver, to a piece of glass that came from the old heater door. It has to have withstood much higher temps than the kiln does. So it had to be removed from a metal frame, before I can try it out and it looks ok. I have read that this glass can be used to keep my glass shiny on the bottom as well as on the top. It will get a bit more play before I am confident to use it. I cut off a small piece to use for experiments and to see what it does.
That was enough physical for one day.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Dot I see you lurking so , I am being quick. xxxx
Robert, that's not good. Hope you got to it soon enough to help mate.
That blob in the kiln is looking good, but at 4pm it was still too hot to pull out of the kiln. I am not risking a crack, so it will wait until tomorrow.
In the other kiln, there is a bowl getting shaped up, so I put one of the small experimental heater glass bits in as well. Fingers crossed it handles a light temp . It will get put into a longer temp, if the shorter on works. I figure that only one kiln can be fires at a time, so whatever is in the first kiln, can have a good drop in temp, while the other kiln gets warmed up tonight. That's the theory anyway.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
A good day today, had the AJ treatment came home and got stuck into putting some framing up for the "special" pumpkins
Then got stuck into trimming more trees/shrubs. The weather was just right. Neighbours at the back gave us a doz fresh eggs, little yellow tomatoes and a dozen or so yellow peaches. Our bounty from our trees has been nonexistent maybe we should pull them out ???? OMG have just watched "Auschwitz" One Day. SBS 1, The docco was very informative yet sometimes I wish I had not watched it after seeing some of the faces of the showers etc. When will the human race ever learn?
Hope everyone had a good Aust day. Time for bed e buys for me so Goodnight everyone x
Goodnight Robert n Bob x
hope you are feeling better soon.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
It is a tight one George into the 5th set 2 sets each Looks like Sinner is the fitter. I like Medvedev but he looks tired. Rather a warm day but we did a bit more garden stuff. Q/can you grow berries ie, Boysenberries', Raspberries etc in pots? In the garden they seem to send runners out all over the place and their lack of produce this year has been disappointing to say the least. Pudding now (1041pm SA) is custard and stewed plums. yummo Oh dear Medvedev is making mistakes a bit now 5th set Sinner 4 Med 2. Yep I'd say Sinner may be the winner. Ok bedtime stay safe and all the sickies get well soon. Goodnight everyone x
Goodnight Tanks x
And the winner is SINNER a good game though.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Dot, I don't see why berries shouldn't grow in big pots. Maybe the runners are where you get next year's fruits? Someone with more expertise may have better ideas. xxxx
Just for Dot
Kiln set up fired in kiln finished blob Also called a jellyfish sculpture by the yanks.
That was a pleasing result.
Not too hot, but still very humid. Spent a little time in the shed, putting a couple of splat plates that had broken legs in transit, in with some new additions. That was about it for the day. We are both really feeling the heat, so not pushing it too far.

Don't know why it sent the second pic to the bottom, but at least it is still there for you to see.
