At the rate technology is developing, sodium ion batteries may become extinct before they get on the market. But as the ingredients are abundant and not that volatile, hope they solve the current problems they have with them. Have already read some advertising their available now, but have yet to actually find someone selling them in this country.
I'm thinking of re-establishing the grid connection which was on the property when I bought it, have excess energy going to waste and even a few dollars coming in would help in the economic climate. The reason for that is, got a letter from Auroa energy (the hydro here), telling me they will install a new smart meter this month and gave a date they would be here, even though haven't had the grid connected for 25 years.
Know a local sparky who installs generator switches, which would mean can export power after my batteries are charged. He installs the inverters and include the wind generator, as we get heaps of wind which is why never run out of power and have excess, can up my panels a few more Kw.

Welcome home Dot xxxx
Wish the heat would disappear from here too. It's still too hot n humid for us. Last night the kiln turned itself off, with the message that it was too hot to work. The coolest it got last night was 26 degrees, so I can't blame the kiln for feeling hot. Tonight hasn't been any better, so I didn't even try to turn the kiln back on. What a pita. Yes, it's summer, but feels more like living in hell at the moment.
Had a different sort of day today. I went out to lunch with a group of our jayco ladies. Felt a bit posh, The Windsor Castle hotel at East Maitland. The meals were delicious and huge, much better than many of the pub meals that we have endured of late. One of our men has been in hospital since early December and is still requiring more treatment. We thought it would be a good change of scene for his wife and she was happy to be with us for a while. My Thai beef salad was huge and tasty. The doggy bag that came home was enough for my dinner, his nibs doesn't like those flavours so I didn't share it with him.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
early again to say goodnight because I am tired. Took Brian to vet due to him being out of sorts and he has dental surgery in a week. He is sleeping all the time, changing sleeping places. He is eating and drinking ok but just not right. I got a urine spec off him and vet looked under the scope, showed nothing exciting but wants to do bloods tomorrow morning to make sure nothing nasty. Have to give Brian a pill tonight and another 2 hrs before bloods taken as last time he was really distressed and needed calming. Nothing exciting done today trying to decide on new basins, loos paint colors for the ensuit and another bathroom. Then comes the kitchen Oh help. Anyone ever used that spray painting system ? Goodnight, everyone x

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Dot, sounds like poor old Brian is having a rough trot. Hope the calm pills help to get a diagnosis. Take care mate xxxx
Woke up today with 95% humidity....not real crash hot or pleasant. Eventually by lunchtime, the clouds decided to work and the rain has finally cooled us down. It has been really pleasant for the last few hours. I decided to bite the bullet and have set the kiln to fire up a load tonight. Hope I find all is well in the morning.
George, it seems like we are doomed with medical waiting times . I have to wait until March, just to see the GP and goodness knows if anything else is needed, how long it will take. The medical waiting times are the things that I notice most since we moved up from Sydney. If you couldn't see a specialist quickly, the GP would find another one (or five) to try. Our kids don't seem to have problems seeing quacks in Western Sydney or Bondi Junction. Our son tells us that this is part of the dickhead taxes that we must pay because we deserted the big smoke.

How's Brian Dot? xxxx
Had a doc day today. Saw the GP and then the vampires, maybe have some thoughts soon.
The shed was a much more pleasant place today. Cool breeze and some gentle rain. The kiln had fired up some plates for their first fuse, but they had no excitement in the design. So I added some extra squiggles and flowers and sent them back for another fuse. I really don't like my things to be bland, so now they should pop. Time will tell.
It's almost exciting to be heading for bed and knowing the blanket will be needed. Such a change from the last few weeks with not even a sheet covering us. Should get some good sleep now too.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Good ol Brian had pill #2 at 0830 this am and hit the vets at 1530. He was the perfect patient but they had to try both paws to get the blood. He slept all afternoon. Vet will ring us tomorrow with the results. Did a few hrs work at AJ's pulling down old timbers and de nailing them for her firewood. G picked up 10 x 75kg bags of potting mix and all types of soil additives for her mass planting next week. She now has the 2 bathrooms done and the kitchen cabinets are supposed to be coming tomorrow . Still lots of work to do though. I had a treatment as well. She has one of her patients is an arborist and he is cutting / trimming a huge tree plus other fruit trees and he will also prune my fruit trees correctly.
.Off to check out the Ikea, Green building and bathroom places for ideas colors etc. Looking forward to seeing your latest creations Deborah. Shirley are you back at the bowls yet? Goodnight everyone x
Goodnight Pet-els x
Congrats on your exam passing.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Good evening Dot, first day back at bowls today & we were playing pairs only played 11 ends before a light shower & our opposition pair wanted to come off, Carol was complaining about her back & Claudia wasn’t playing good, anyway we won the rink draw $10 each, we were ahead 15-6.
I actually played really good, that often happens when you’ve had a break.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Well done Shirley, $10 into your Xmas kitty.. The break must of agreed with you. We went to Ikea and Buntings to check out bathroom things basins, tiles, showers loos, Ikea was a total loss, the place was not worth going to, things have slipped drastically and there was not one thing I was even interested in so off to the green shed. They had a better selection by far, so with samples and sizes and costs we headed home in peak hr when the nutters are out and about. The vet rang re Brians blood tests from Yesterday, everything checked out ok just a bit of bladder bother and no need for any meds Test again next week when he has his teeth done. (Cheaper than G's) I was up at the crack of George at 6am and had done 3 loads of washing and put the sprinklers on, only got up at that time because I was worried about Brian. Mrs Brown is on tonight, new series so assured of some good laughs so I am going to say Goodnight everyone x

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Dot, enjoy Mrs Brown and her feral mob. Glad Brian has good results today. Will you do the slow down drugs next week for his teeth cleaning? xxxx
Sorry no pics at the moment. My computer and phone do not want to talk to each other and my patience is non existant, maybe another day.
I woke up today feeling like a bag of rags and have no energy at all. The shed door didn't even get opened, I am just too stuffed. Not a lot to share.
