Yet another scam alert

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Yet another scam alert

Post by Greynomad »

Received this message this morning (at 0157!!).
Apart from the fact that we have not travelled to Melbourne — or any other city with toll roads — the address in the link is nothing like the real website for Linkt (which they also spelled incorrectly! 🙄).

Best advice is NEVER to click on the link provided.
If you think there’s a possibility it’s genuine, go to the website through Google (or your preferred browser).
If you have an hour to spare, phone the company and talk to a human when they eventually put you at the top of the queue.

Things that come along like that, always report as scam and have the number blocked. Had a few lately for some reason for years never had any so wondering if its coming via some recent business I've dealt with that has my number. Luckily only my working number, private one is only know by very few people, not even my kids know it exists. :D

I love playing with them! A lot of fun.
I keep getting a lot of a certain type (ph calls) that I answer but don't talk.
Then I dial them back waffle on & on.
Try ringing 0370444936 & listen in.

I get those Linkt ones all the time. And my name isn't even on the account.
They must have a multitude of mobile numbers available for their use. I reckon I've blocked hundreds of 'em. Some even come up with the 'suspected spam' warning.
Cheers

David, I have never had the suspected scam warnings. That would be really helpful.

Last night I had one from the tollways mob and another from ING telling me that I had a request for money from an air BnB. Neither of which were plausible. They got the bank wrong and a bit hard to be on roads when you can't even get the car out across the mud. We avoid toll roads at all times, especially when towing. They charge us , with our setup is a truck, not cheap.

Funny how they seem to come around 2am.

The last two I received were a
Medicare alert that I needed to click a link to see what anomaly was causing an imminent interruption to my account

AusPost: Please update your postal address, Post Shop deliveries have been stopped, more details and a link to aupost.myupoxa.services

I wonder how many fall for these scams

I'm now 87 years old, having experienced another birthday, and I'm still living in WA, single (gave up looking), white hair, no teeth, no money, no worries.
I plan to have another birthday next year.

According to some reports, lots get sucked in and lose money, read recently over $2 billion has been lost by fools getting conned on the internet and millions taken from people who use online phone banking and then yo have the fools demanding a cashless society.

The thing is, the lead is AusPost not AustPost and the link is aupost, forget about the rest of the link not being an official govt site, these people don't even make it look authentic .....
