Deborah, most of AJ's gardens are shrubs but roses are her downfall :D she has vegs and fruit stuff in raised gardens and climbers. Her tradies are nearly all patients of hers and she also works in the city so they get to keep out of each others way   and she can claim 25% tax stuff on all the work. (business) You were right about a rest day I awoke at just before 1pm, G said he woke me x 2 but when he came back in I was asleep again. All I have done today is to put some folded washing away. Do you not leave your van all ready to go or do you leave that until "the last minute"? :D More rain forecast for tomorrow but the weekend is supposed to be fine so we ay head to the block to pick up some more stuff. Have now signed all the papers so all set to go. Now ads that are so pissy / shitty. The Caruso add "Want to Poo more"?, the woman sitting on the loo pouring water on a pad, the 2 females (1 pretending to be a male) throwing washing over the "Male". etc we know there are different humans but do we have to have them shoved at us all the time ?? End of rant  Shower time so goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Vik351 x :D

Dot, I can't talk about roses. We actually have three different gardens that are just for specific roses. That's his speciality. Nearly everything just stays in the van, but the clothes, fridge foods and drugs all come back inside. We have four small plastic crates of first aid and various drugs and creams that are essential for our healthy living. Yes we keep the chemist in caviar! Hope you find the energy soon mate xxxx

It was his turn to need some support today. I took him off to the dentist for a very long appointment. I enjoyed sitting in the car in the sun with a good book. He was a bit tired after the marathon appointment. He got spoiled a bit. I drove him home and kept him slowly eating and drinking the things that cheer him up (mainly chocolate).

It's that time of year for us. So lots of extra appointments for check ups etc. Today it was the hearing aid people, for his annual check up and booking a bone scan for him. Appointments all made and now some more things to get sorted tomorrow. Computer man is coming tomorrow to install a new battery in this laptop, so that's another reason to get out of bed way too early, but it will be done.

A slow start to the day but revved up this arvo. I convinced G to get started on cleaning out the other shed ready for the man to bring the gravel for the shed floor. Amazing the junk that was in there. What he said to keep went onto the get rid of pile and only a few bits made it to the "keep pile" So now we have a few piles of stuff to do a resort later  Heard this arvo that our very own Ram aka Norman was having his other hip replacement done today so hope it all went well for the old fella. Not long until the BOB start TDF. woo hoo Go Jumbo Visma . The Jayco team have some really good riders in this year so maybe their year?? Time for shower and bed so take care everyone and goodnight x :D Goodnight Norman x :D Hope all went well for you.

Dot, when you have finished your shed clearing, could you start on ours? We seem to have managed to collect so many extra tools, from when we had a small holiday house, and then from both of our parents garages as well as our original garage. Truly I don't know how many hammers he has stashed away, but I am never game enough to try to discard one.  xxxx

I got out of bed way too early to deal with the computer man, who never came. I finally sent off a text message to ask about his whereabouts. I knew that if I rang, I would get even more cranky. The message back was that the battery had arrived at their wholesaler and it would be a few days before it was in their hands. They will let me know when it arrives. Amazing, I even had to pre-pay for the damned thing, so not really happy.

I finally got the solar battery installer on the phone. He was in the car and would ring back...didn't happen today anyway. I opened the computer a few minutes ago to find that he had sent me an email at 7am today to say the the techie who we prefer to deal with, is available today, so call him. These people think we just sit around all day waiting to read our emails and listen to their pathetic phone calls.

You got it. I am truly over dealing with rude, lazy people who think that their world is way more important than ours.

On a nicer note. I have been writing to Terry for a while with my solar battery problems and he has been really helpful and generous with his time. He has given me the confidence to ask a lot of questions to get to fully understand the battery that has been suggested by our installer and now I have felt reasonably safe in ordering the battery. So a big shout out to Terry.

Nighty night one and all xxx

Too many rude twerps on the phones lately. I now find doing bitching by email is the best, proves who said what and when. Wore myself out yesterday and would you believe it I didn't awake until 2.30pm today and have done nothing all day apart from stoke the fire. Visitors coming for scones tomorrow so I must get to bed else they will have to make them themselves  Bus is all ready to go to the mechanic on Tuesday for all over checklist and service ready to nick off when /if we can. Take care everyone I am off for a nice long hot shower then bed. Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Ray x :D

Dot I feel envious all this sleeping that you are managing to accomplish, I have a real problem with insomnia, lucky to sleep 3 hours & sleeping tablets are useless, it seems to be an age problem so many of my friends also have problems sleeping.

Completed a cardigan today for myself & have purchased the wool to knit the eldest g’son a jumper, expensive activity if you purchase good quality yarn but they do last for years if washed properly, I enjoy knitting.

Good night everyone, hope you all enjoy a good nights sleep, here’s hoping or 🙏 :D

Shirley,
Agree with you on quality wool.
SWMBO knitted me a cardigan with lots of cable stitch and other fancies.
I’m still wearing it after 20+ years! It’s a replacement for a previous cardigan which was 100% cable stitch. Took me 25 years to wear through the elbows. Bl@@dy warm and comfortable, it was, too.
#1 weighed in at 3kg. #2 weighs 2.7kg.

Bedtimes are a bit earlier than pre-op… used to be around 0015~0030.
Tonight it’s 2305.
So it’s goodnight from me.
G’nite Shirley, Deb, Riverlander & Dottie. 😁
Regards & God bless,
Ray

Enjoy those scones Dot. I haven't had a decent scone in years. I suppose I should have a go and make some, but nobody to share them with. His lordship doesn't really like em, so it's wasted cooking. xxxx

Had a good sleep in today and as it was freezing, I happily stayed in bed until 10. It's been sort of drizzly and just too cold to do much. So we followed our hearts and did bugga all. It's way too cold to go down to my shed and cutting glass in this weather is not wise. It just cuts in any direction but where it's meant to go, so not really going to waste glass this week. I am starting to think it may be time get along and work on some new Christmas designs...maybe not just yet. I don't see the weather improving soon either. It's snowing somewhere and I am sure it's not far away. bbbrrr

Missed last night as went to sleep in the chair and woke up freezing. Went to Specsavers today, I got a pair of bifocals plus a pair just for reading. G got a pr of graduated bifocals he spent more than I did. Not much change in either of our tests, happy with that. Dam cold today though, had a bit of rain on the way home. No scones made Deborah, turned out the visitors RnB and Molly had to cancel as he had a sore throat and was quite tired. I have to be up early tomorrow as bus has to be at mechanics at 8am   .Had a text from AJ, she isn't feeling well and is sleeping a lot hmmmm not going to mention the C word... Q/ Has anyone ever tried those 12 volt windscreen demisters, I would like one for the bus. Popped into the Sallies for a look, how greedy are this lot? There were some scabby looking flannelette shirts there for $15  brand new ones in Kmart and thicker for $10. disgusting, then a baby's singlet (used) for $3. And they have the cheek to say they are there to help people. Enough of a rant, tea time now, and goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Peter and Sandra x :D

Dot, good time to buy at specsavers right now, so good one. Put a covid/flu test in AJ's letterbox, then she will know which bug has bitten her. You may have to deliver some chicken soup to her front steps, just to keep her going. Sorry you missed the scones, but good visitors to stay away when unwell. xxxx

Had some warmth in the sunlight today, so wandered down to my shed. Spent a lot of time sorting out and putting away things, from the "builders" who added my new doors. The shed is getting back to workable, but his nibs will have to remove a few more of his things to give me a bit more space...tact and caution will be needed to get him to act. ;)

I did a bit of research about using the glass shards that came from the door shattering a while back. A small amount of it is now piled up, in a stainless steel mold and it's getting a very long firing. Will be interesting to see what happens, some time tomorrow. Because this is very experimental, I won't be offering it up for sale.

Stay warm and safe on the roads,

night all xxx
Deborah
