Nightly Goodnight Everyone

Looks like some grass weeds are going to be murdered in your yard Dot. Hope it works as well as Bernie suggests. Take it slowly mate xxxx

Oh boy, it's been a cold day. The rain held off for quite a long time and the sun almost came out. I did a bit of weed pulling, while the roots are sodden, much easier to get them right out. Then wandered down to my shed. Very satisfying morning.

The glass is looking really good, but the mesh basket still had some glass in it (that' usually happens) and it left some stalactites growing from the basket to the glass. As I removed all the supports, the basket stayed in place, held up by the thick drips. Eventually, the basket was removed from the glass and the drips have been flattened out. It's having another slow heating tonight to get the bumps to flatten and to tidy up the piece. Over all, I am really pleased with it. More work to be done on it tomorrow.

The afternoon was spent at a progress meeting. It looks like we are really coming to the end of our major project of getting a history walk up and running. The sheets with the suggested format for each sign have come back and they really look amazing. We plan to have our official opening in November, but hoping that our side of the work is coming to a close very soon.

Safe travels Robert.

The rain has returned with a vengeance. I see the BOM has changed the long range forecast to say it will be a wet summer. I seem to remember a story about 7 years of drought and famine followed by 7 years of flood and feast.....someone might tell the BOM that story. Climate change be blowed, it's just the way it has always been.

Deb,
Pics please?
I’m curious to see how the drips end up smoothed.
The tray you don’t like seems to have been sprinkled with M&Ms! A bit strange IMHO. 🫢
Maybe a remake in the future??? 🤔
Regards & God bless,

BOB's or too much in the garden Dot? Stay warm mate xxxx

Ray, thanks for the interest. The plate with the blobs on the edges was intentional. The blobs are left overs from another experiment...you know I can't waste anything right? I am putting it up for sale this weekend at a market, will try to get a reaction from the customers before I decide on it's fate. The interesting plate has survived the fusing and is now being bent into shape as I type. I had added a few bits of colours to try to hide some holes that it had developed and now it looks different again. Tomorrow will tell. Pics if you are lucky!

As George said, it was a no work day and not one to venture out into the wilderness. I spent a short time in my shed, but not very long at all. I looked at the plate and decided to make it into a bit of a bowl, tomorrow will tell.

It's frozen and rainy, so not great weather for even the Manno ducks.

Sure was not great weather Deborah, although the sun did make an appearance on & off in the afternoon, I spent most of the day knitting 🧶 didn’t have the enthusiasm to get up & do housework.

Will be interesting the reaction to your plate, it is certainly different, I wondered about blobs thought folk might try to pick them up when the plate was used.

I am sick to bits of being buggered after doing next to nothing. I have decided to kill the remaining grass and start over fresh, new soil and new grass. At present we have Santa anna grass. any suggestions? BOB have hit the hills 48ks to go. Won another $100 voucher from the hospital lottery so might head to the city to use it plus pick up a couple of berry vines. Boysenberry and raspberry? Oh bugger my mate Wout Van Aert has just had a crash but isn't . Jayco boys are not doing too bad for you Deborah, Any bowls lately Shirley? I had a boiled egg for tea tonight so exciting  G sprayed the fruit trees with the copper stuff, they are starting to bud. Once again the scenery is something to admire . Must concentrate now so Goodnight everyone :D x Goodnight Tanks :D x

Dot, take it slowly mate. Softly softly catchee monkey, much better than the bull in that china shop hey? Glad to see you back. xxxx

Today was a get out of bed before normal people do. We had an early appointment at Gosford with our endocrinologist. She is happy with us both, gave us verbal gold stars for being as healthy as she can make us. That was sort of an anticlimax. Anyway, that's trip number 1 to Gosford for this week. I can't stand the place. It's such a dark hole with many empty buildings or building sites and nowhere to park. That was good to get our annual check up done and dusted.

Next was to visit a nursery for some roses for my front garden. He specially wants double delights (to go with the rest of my double delights) but they have to be standards to get above the fence, so that they have enough sunlight. None to be found anywhere. Once home, I did the internet thing. Found a few places that had them, but the cheapest ones were from SA, and even at that they were not really cheap. Anyway, I only ordered two and was a huge bit peed off, when I paid for them by paypal and then the postage was added before I could cancel it. They charged $35 for postage for a few sticks wrapped in a plastic bag. I was not happy about that, but even with the postage added they were about the same price as the other places that I found them on. I will write to them, once the roses arrive. I want to see what condition they come in for that amount of money. All hell will let loose if the roses don't come up to my standards.

The kiln work was good, but not good enough. The bowl didn't drop down in the middle enough. It just looked like a frisbee, with wrinkly edges. I made a deeper mold and have it being warmed up again tonight.

Sir Walter is a Buffalow hybrid, but you still need to read the weed & feed label so you don't kill it. My favourite Kikuyu, bit shade under trees can be an issue, but mixed with Sir Walter in those areas and they will balance each other out. Both happy with a spread of fertiliser pellets in the spring, stay green even in the heat ... but any grass will burn when the heat is intense, Kikuyu recovers well from frost and being burnt, but road up definitely kills big patches because Kikuyu is a runner type grass.

Good evening, I bowled today Dot, rained on Tuesday & rained both days the week before, they did bowl on that Thursday but was to cold for this old girl to play social bowls in rainy cold weather didn’t want to end up unwell.

Actually today we were back to almost perfect winter weather beautiful sunshine, a little nippy cold breeze with your jacket off & feeling hot with it on.

Time to add some b.b.bounce in your step Dot? Maybe add some berocca to your daily chemist account. I have found that adding vitamin B was an improvement on my get up and go, most days, until my get up and go gets up and leaves. xxxx

Another medical day. Had an MRI done on my knee and a scan on my ankle. Some answers would be really good.

After that great excitement, I wondered down to my shed. I found the bowl is looking better, but one side was just sticking u pin an awkward way. Remodeled the mold and put it all back into the kiln for another night on heat.I do hope that if it comes out looking ok, I will take it with me to Gosford for the weekend and hopefully sell it. That would be nice!
