So, what were the predictions for today's over night spot?

T1,
I put my money on a November arrival for the new Winnie. 🤣

And the removal of the deceased m/h will take two days minimum. 🙄
Regards & God bless,

You could be on a winner here Ray  We haven't left Lake Illawarra yet, maybe tomorrow

Haven't wrung the neighbour yet, tomorrow morning I'm thinking to see how much progress they have achieved. I had come up with a method, a very simple couple of hr max removal, but they wouldn't let me have the wreck, so I'm not telling them how to do it   Any value they thought they might gain from the wreck, will be eaten up in equipment hire ... plus some. They could have given me the wreck and told me to get rid of it and paid me the removal money ...... they have already paid me out now, so any excess in extraction costs is on them now :D The crazy thing is, even up to the point they paid me out, no one actually attended the site to see just how difficult it was going to be to get it out ..... it was a minimum of a 5 point turn when it had wheels and tyres under it and self-propelled, they are not likely to be able to skull drag 10 tonne flat on the ground across pavers, they will just build a paver wall under the chassis and not get anywhere I'm guessing .... it will be interesting to see

EDIT: I doubt the road out front will be stable enough to use a crane with a long jig to lift it out, the outriggers on the river side will have no stable base under them, the flood washed that away and it has never been replaced .......

Well, after all that, they actually got the bus out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AS9n0fynYOI It will be interesting to see how much damage there is to the pavers and trees up the driveway, Don said they did a bit of damage to the bushes

That driver did a good job considering where the bus was and the angle it was on.

Credit where credit is due, I could see easier ways just doing the approach he was trying, getting the shittes at the end and ramming the tilt tray under it wasn't really the optimal approach, simply moving the winch hook to the side he needed to pull to the centre through a pulley block (they all carry them) with the tray tilted down so the front was off the ground, would have moved the bus body over to the angle he needed to drag it straight up the tray. By squaring it up, then dropping the body down till the front was on the ground, winch while moving the tray back under the body, repeat until it's on the truck.
I'm guessing there are a few hrs edited out of the whole process, but give him his dues, he got it done .... now to see just how much carnage he produced during the event .... we plan to reuse the pavers to save a few hundred $$ to tidy up around the modular transportable home we get built and set up on the block .... or maybe we'll find a house they want gone that is strong enough to survive being transported by the house movers and go that way ..... time will tell .....

Very interesting video Terry. Your neighbour is really good to have filmed all the action (or non actions in places) clearly the bus is a wreck. That is so heart breaking, so many dreams. My heart goes out to you both.
