Well folks it turns out I know/knew more about a Cron Job than the tech chaps at the hosting company although they advertise as "the biggest in the land"!
Their reply.... "We understand that you would like to have a cron switching php to 7.4 every 15 mins however we're afraid that this must be done by a programmer as it involves scripting which is the command."

So I have a couple of options to attack this problem.
The first is the easiest one & I've written some code & already introduced it into the process. Been running for a couple of hours so far & I've received no complaints.
The server is running PHP version 7.4 but my code actually forces the forum to use version 8.1.3.
If that fails to stop/fix the problem I'll attack it in a much more involved way.

Another issue is this blasted (I won't swear like Ray!) Amazon Bot that is again hammering the site. At present they have 145 bots hitting the server and all are using a different IP address. It would take some hours every day to block via IP address so I'm going down another route. (Ray that is rowt not root!)
If anyone gets blocked or notices a problem please "reach out" as they say!
HoooRooo...

Bruce,
“Rowt” is the American pronunciation. 🤨
Us Ozzies who have UK ancestry pronounce it as “root”. 🙂

However, the tool used to cut various shaped holes or edges on wood is called a “rowter” — as is the electronic switching device.

Likewise, “skedule” is American; the OED says it’s “shed-ule”.

😇
Regards & God bless,
Ray

Thankyou Ray.
Who ever said English language was easy didn't realize .....
I like the Papua New Guinea pidgeon English better!
I love the way "The Bush Missionary" talks dirty in some of his videos.
Fast forward to around 33 min if you fall to sleep.

Bruce, just thought that I haven't had a PhP message since you had that bit of code changed.
So, on behalf of all of us, thanks. It appears to have worked.

Well I suppose everyone has had the dreaded Php message again today.
I'm going to assume that Bruce fixed it again. I know Marg is still on hospital, and Terry knows as much about the inner workings of bulletin boards as I do.
Thanks Bruce. :D
