He does a lot of EV testing for his You Tube channel and is popular with those in the know because he keeps it honest and introduces some great products, like that portable battery/inverter that acts as a jerry can to get an EV going again if you do drive it till absolutely empty. Add a couple of solar blankets and a forced stop at a road side rest area could be combined with a coffee and snack break, or in an electric RV, a lunch break or even an afternoon snooze

Appears Elton didn't get anything out of Clarkson or top gear

edit
Tesla unsuccessfully sued British television show Top Gear for its 2008 review of the Tesla Roadster (2008) in which Jeremy Clarkson could be seen driving one around the Top Gear test track, complaining about a range of only 55 mi (89 km), before showing workers pushing it into the garage, supposedly out of charge. Tesla filed a lawsuit against the BBC for libel and malicious falsehood, claiming that two cars were provided and that at any point, at least one was ready to drive. Paradoxically, the range of 55 mi was calculated by Tesla itself and supplied to Top Gear as an estimate of the car's range.[54] In addition, Tesla said that neither car ever dropped below 25% charge, and that the scene was staged.[55][56][57][58] However, Top Gear frequently stages scenes for comedic effect, for example by showing Jeremy Clarkson having to refuel the Jaguar XJS three times during the review of it.[59] The High Court in London rejected Tesla's libel claim.[60] The falsehood claims were later struck out.[61]

Bow wrote: Wed Jun 19, 2024 3:56 pm Terry, to travel up north you need a minimum range of 600k and charging stations are nonexistent. The only way to charge a electric vehicle is from a diesel generator.
What about the solar and inverter? Might need to stop up for a while longer, but not stranded ..... good reason to increase the solar, you know you want too

Terry, since you installed the battery system I have increased the solar from 750 watts to 1850 watts, no need to worry about running out of power now.

Just for those who thought the world could simply ignore or tariff their way out of the Chinese EV automotive dominance ..... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9xIE9seg6Os
I was stunned by the number of EV's we saw on our trip to the Illawarra, just how many there are there now compared to the last visit less than 12 mths ago ......

We live in a small country town about an hour north of Newcastle and even here there are noticeable amounts of EV's, they are also increasingly obvious amongst the travellers coming through and weekend visitors.
I also noticed on a recent 2 month trip through central Qld that you often see them on the road and also saw one being towed behind a large motorhome.
