Yes, you will waste your money buying "back to grid solar," it will add no value to the house and the money they offer now would take longer than the equipment will last to pay for it.
Maybe, if you plan to stay there, put an off grid solar system in, you could combine that with an electric vehicle if you wanted, take advantage of the very cheap power available at certain times of the day to charge the EV battery, then use that to power some appliances at night or during peak power pricing to reduce you power bill ....
