T1, have you had a look at the roof yet, to see if it needs a recoat or not?

I'll get there when I put the new solar up, but at the moment I think it's just dirty. The previous owner bought it as a repairable write-off and had the roof reskinned and sealed ...... well, that's what he told me anyway and the rego papers are marked in the conditions and information acrss the bottom that it is recorded on the register of Written Off vehicles, but Ken Tames and associates didn't seem to care about that when they insured it .....

I haven't checked it's knees or neck joints, a complete swap over would make it hard to get my T Shirt collection to fit ......

The L110 hybrid transmission out of the Lexus would no only destroy the transfer box, but by the time I made the trans tunnel big enough for it to fit, we'd have nowhere for the seats Then of course, where would the batteries go?

If I had a lot more yrs in me, I'd be interested in fitting a front and rear electric axle out of an MG4 X Power, that would make an insane offroad 4 X 4

As an owner of a little Jimny, I can seriously recommend that any thought of 'EVing' Jim, be discontinued immediately. They lack a certain amount of stability.
The current Jimny model would be a far more suitable project as they are a have a longer wheelbase and a wider track.
Just buy a Tilta trailer and get Jim back on the road and let him follow a big Winnie around. He already has years of experience doing that.

I was thinking about fitting free wheeling hubs and the rear tailshaft disconnect set up, then flat towing it ..... which do you think would be the better option, the titla trailer does lend itself to being used with the other vehicles in the fleet But it does add a parking spot requirement when at a caravan park or showground .... plus yet another rego

Found the leak under the inlet manifold, the cooling system cleaner has done a ice job o opening up the hole in the steel pipe so it will be easier to locate when I finally get it out If it wasn't for the fact the LPG converter and the heater requires that feed into the back of the water pump, I'd delete it as the yanks like to put it ..... Maybe I can form up a piece of aluminium pipe to replace the steel one ....
I'll see how long it will take to get a replacement from the states to see if it's a project worth the effort .....

I would assume there is a aluminium fabricator near you it wouldn't be a big job, to make a pipe to spec's.

I always worry about those radiator cleaning products.
The Civilian I had, still had all the pipework to feed the rear heater for when it was a bus. They removed the heater & just connected the in & out with rubber hose. I found that whole pipeline full of gunk, rust & everything else you can think of. I removed that system at the engine & then proceeded to clean out the engine & radiator. I used nothing other than ordinary detergent & boiling hot water. Back & forth for a very long time till clean. When I had the Mercedes truck I got advice from head mechanic to ONLY use a small amount of soluble oil in the radiator. Not to use any of the anti-freeze or etc etc.
I hope it hasn't eaten out anything else Terry!
