I have tried ringing him, to no avail. Is answered weirdly. It is answered "Hello, Peter here, how are you all?, hello". and then just beeps.

OK, I just spoke to Peter on the phone.
All is OK & he's spent today sorting everything out including his bank accounts just in case!
