Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
You and me both Shirley. My sleep patterns are pretty ordinary. But I don't have any problem getting to sleep. My problem is staying asleep. Once I'm awake, that's it for it, at least for a couple of hours.
Cheers

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
I can get maybe 5 hrs sleep, an hr at a time, often 15 mins or less at a time. I read books on my phone until I reach the stage I've either re-read that part of the page a number of times and still not sure where I'm up to, or realising both my eyes have shut, often have to read with one or the other eye closed because they ache inside, then I put the book and glasses on the bedside table and try to nod off again ...... sometimes it works, sometimes another hr or so reading is required. I've often gone to bed after midnight and still be reading at 3 in the morning .... getting the head to agree it's sleep time is the hard bit ........

Agree Terry, time for me to maybe nod off is 3am, lucky if I sleep 3 hours a night, result I always feel tired & prescribed sleeping tablets rarely allow me to sleep any longer
Think it is an age problem
although think I am several years older than you.

Like wine, some of us age better than others, but a good vintage makes a better wine
I can't really function using sleeping pills, even if I did sleep longer, the pills still seem to have another 12 hrs left in them after I wake up
The "scan" doesn't help much either, although it does help with the nodding off early in the evening and then waking up at around 11pm with no hope of getting back to sleep.
I now have a perfect sleep pattern for night shift, just the body is in no condition to be working for 12 hrs any more ..... but maybe a cash in hand consul operator job might suit me, they think twice about trying to intimidate an old bloke in a hold up, they have more to lose and old blokes don't have a good temper at the best of times

Maybe time to put the negligee and other alluring night time attire (or lack of) away and only bring it out for special occasions ..... not just days that end in "y"

Dot, yep, that's a big maybe mate xxxx
Terry, too much information mate.
My sleep is great for a night watchman, I don't go to bed until I am tired, usually 2 am but then I sleep until 10am so it works for me. His lordship does a lot of stuff in the mornings and I suspect that my hours don't fit in with his very often. I really cannot find ways to change a lifetime of working late at night to get things done, holding a full time job and being a full time mother....something had to give. Thankfully, at least, I can get that late morning sleep, most days.
A really big load of shopping was done today, so the larder is full for a while. The lift was used to bring the groceries up, the jury is out as to whether that was a life saver or not. If he parks at the front door there are only a few steps to climb and he is in. He parked at the bottom door and it's still a couple of wonky steps and then wait for the lift to return, it saw him getting a bit agitated. Shopping was enough for him, he needed his lunch.

You know the cause Dottie, you can use the back arrow at the left top of the screen to get your post back and find what upset the software sensitivity, generally a brand name will be the cause, then resubmit .... I doubt you will be able to get it back now because you have submitted another post in its place

I'm not one for believing in conspiracies..
However, there is growing evidence that screen usage before bed and when you wake up mid sleep triggers you to stay awake.
