Well, that just wrecked an interesting phone call with Telstra.

If you google extended ring time there is a formula there to do it, but often after your phone updates it is lost. Last time I tried after an update was told "not available on this network" (Telstra) So didn't worry about it. Then out of the blue a couple of days ago, it did the extended ring (star wars) Now back to non extended ? I don't really care as so many scammers are identified and don't get through anyway.

It's part of the national strategy to reduce scamming events. ... Think about how much money you've saved from not answering.

Got a call today.
Pre-recorded woman telling me there was a $900 transaction on my PayPal a/c. Press 1 to confirm, press 2 to abort.
As PayPal only communicates via text messages asking me to check my a/c, I knew it was a scam.
Hung up (without pressing 1or 2) and logged into my account.
No $900 transaction listed.

I’m not as silly as some people think.

In the past I’ve had a text to say my Commonwealth Bank account was overdrawn, and to tap the link to contact the bank.
Apart from the fact that I don’t have a Commonwealth Bank account, the link address bore only a passing resemblance to the real thing.

Binned that one rapidly.

But that's the problem Dave, my ring piece is slow. I do talk to it but it takes no notice and clams up

Today I rang my NZ mate and the Brian sitter to give them our news. Needless to say NZ M8 was as gutted as me but we shall get there as soon as we can. I worked off my frustration by loading 6 bales od hay on the trailer and covered it over, 2 loads of washing, moved big pot plants, raked up 4 wheelbarrow full of next doors gum leaves, watered the lawn with the tank water, cleaned all the bird baths, have yet to clean the aviary out and replace the branches for them to pull apart. I will be very sore tomorrow. Had 2 showers as what I was doing was dusty and sweaty as... Looking forward to catching up with Deborah she will cheer me up no doubt. If we thought today was hot then tomorrow is going to be a stinker. Good to hear RnB's knee is improving and Norman is home so all we need now is a report on Tanks and Ray.
