1. Trade tariffs will hurt ordinary Americans (but not the ultra wealthy) more than they will the other countries.
2. A lot of people who voted for Trump are now expressing misgivings and saying they were misled. Some even ask publicly if they can change their vote!
3. Appointing clearly unqualified sycophants to lead government departments is a rapid road to calamity.
Cartoonist are paid to question authority and express alternative views and/or poke fun at the powerful when they try to use their wealth to the detriment of society.

The first question that must be asked? What was the reasoning behind declaring the target in the first place? Mindless obedience might work for the military, but it doesn't make good govt, logical, well thought out courses of action are required for good governance, I believe that is what is guiding these targeted attacks on those who were elected to govern, a mindless obedience is not the answer ...... Dragged kicking a screaming to face those that put them in the position of power to explain their actions is what is needed ..... there is a good reason why a democracy has two separate houses of govt, one to keep check on the other one to make sure they are following the rules ...... is that happening over there at the moment, or has one side been locked out and the other side chasing their own personal agendas?

Anyway, two people acting as such outrageous dictators, both trying to out score the other as to just how far outside the rules they can go, deserve to be the butt of satirical humour .... sadly, the opposing party isn't putting up much of a fight, strogly worded statements even seem to be a stretch for them at the moment ....

I don't usually agree with most things the Donald says or does. But this time I think he has outsmarted Canada and Mexico. By some negotiation process both countries have agreed to tighten their border security and that, maybe, will stop the mass migration that the US govt doesn't want.

But I don't agree with his, send 'em back where they came from, thought process. After all, with the exception of the local indigenous people, we all came from somewhere else.

The pretext for the tariffs was the “flood” of Fentanyl crossing into the United States from Canada & Mexico.
Canada accounts for about 0.01% of that “flood”.
Mexico’s share is about 96%. The rest is internally supplied.

When it comes to send them back to where they came from if their entry into the country was say, a study visa and they instead started up a company, then send them back immediately, the Elon Musk is a prime candidate, yet they are not rounding him up and putting him on a plane ..... but then, he is white and male so .....

As far as the border negotiations resulting in more troops sent to police the borders from both Mexico and Canada, Biden had already set that up well before the election, that is why they are all laughing at Trump, no one told him Now he has made enemies of one of their closest allies, Canada, and they can't afford to lose what Canada supplies, so why do it in the first place?

Could it be the Trump wants to stop Americans from fleeing across the borders? He needs a cheap workforce, $7.50hr is the federal minimum wage .... If you remove the safety net of low income assistance, how many hrs a week will the average person on the minimum wage have to work just to eat?

He won't care, he borrowed against the hyped up share value, so no matter what happens, he won't lose money, just the sucker investors.
He is mega dirt on Bill Gates because he has been short selling Tesla stocks since before the election, he knew what was coming, so if he sold just below the peak price each time, he only has to wait till the price drops below the price he sold at and buy the stocks to cover the short fall ..... How any of that is legal I'll never understand .... like synthetic CDO's that caused the last stock market crash ..... banks are still selling them
