Nightly Goodnight Everyone

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Good to see that you found the courage to get the computer out Dot. After my last infestation of computer nasties, my techie made me buy a subscription to a programme called eset smart security. It seems to be doing the trick. Might be worth leaving your machine in town for an upgrade while you are in the land of the long white cloud and maybe a new security programme too.....Gee it was great to finally meet you and George. xxxx

Shirley, I can't really express how enrapt we have both been and that's even from him who doesn't "do" glass.

The people at the gardens have been incredibly friendly. Last night when I returned the wheelchair, the security lady gave me a hug and told me to return any time. I left the chair in the gardens and went outside to wait for the chauffeur, only to be followed out by another of the ladies. She was worried that we had taken so long in the gardens, while we waited for it to get really dark, and that we were ok. Another big hug and safe travel wishes. It was really lovely.

Today we ventured to the art gallery. We tried anyway. After finding parking in a station thing, you know hit em hard just to park the car type place, we crossed the road and went through all of the ground floor of the gallery. Enjoyed what we saw, until we came to a set of winding stairs. I would have ventured up them, but know that I could not have returned that way. The we saw the sign. "sorry lift is not working". That covered the whole of the gallery which is being rebuilt. To say I was disappointed would be an understatement.

We crossed the road to find a food court and enjoyed a lovely lamb yuros each, but after a pepsi, we both needed the loo. He went first while I stayed with the bags etc. He came back and told me that the loos are down a flight of stairs, but the handicapped is at the same level that we were on. I walked to the handicapped, but it was locked. I waited bit and saw a couple of young teenagers scarpering off, giggling as they went. I went in with trepidation, expecting to find some hints of dope...instead it had been lamingtonned. Stupid little s**ts.

Sorry Dot, I will remember to wear the high heeled crocs next time.
Ray, that's quite a storm. Those trees knew not to hit your house. It's probably seem enough trees fall over a long time .

Sure hope that you had some help with cleaning up your blown down trees Ray, lucky they weren’t bigger & didn’t do any structural damage, so many damaging storms lately.
Trust you are coasting along ok health wise, think you need to sit back & take it easy.

Good to see you back online Dot, pleased that you have take off time organised & George has the approval to fly. :D

Deborah is the glass exhibition on every year 🤔 I thought it looked amazing, very talented people indeed.

Goodnight 😴💤💤💤💤💤

Neighbour in front (same age as me) has been a great help.
I still have to do the chainsaw work, but he can bend over without pain, so he’s tossing the smaller bits into the trailer once I cut them off.
SWMBO mans persons 😁 the battery-powered secateurs, attacking the smaller branches with vigour and determination.
Trailer is ¾ full for tip trip #3.
Fortunately the Tip Bloke has waived fees for dumping tree debris. Not sure if the Shire Council knows about that. 😏
Tip trip #4 will be mostly the Ironbark. Could be a fifth trip if we get really fastidious about raking up the tiny bits.
Might just leave them and break out the mulching blades for the ride-on mower. 🤔 😁
On the health front, tomorrow is Oncologist & Infusion Day.
Platelet count is satisfactory, so Oncologist has given me a green light. Unlike last week. 😢
So far I have not suffered ANY of the myriad side-effects I was warned about pre-treatment.
Hoping that will continue. 🤞😃
I hope to learn tomorrow if there has been any progress in the destruction of the cancer. 🤞🙏
Regards & God bless,
Ray

How's the packing going Dot? xxxx

Shirley, all the glass has been done by the same man and his team
As far as I can tell, he won't be returning anytime soon, but he has displays in many countries of the world and his main display is in Seattle where he lives. This has been a once in a lifetime trip for me. To see the works done by him have shown me so many possibilities for my glass works. As most of the displays are of blown glass, that is one big leap ahead of my skillset. It needs extra people to help, a ton a space and extra fancy equipment to be able to do what he does, so probably not setting out to be in competition to this man in my lifetime.

We followed Dot's advice today and went off to the Haighs chocolate factory tour. It was very interesting and delicious...more chocolate has been bought. Next was lunch in the British Pub. Real table service was so good and we didn't pay until after our meal. It felt like old times, when diners were treated like people who could be trusted to pay etc. The meal wasn't too great, but it was still a different experience.

This was followed by a quick trip to an op shop to get a book to read on the plane and a pleasant drive around the suburbs, just looking at the amazing architecture and old houses that have been kept in historically correct condition. Just beautiful. Shame that some of the old deciduous street trees seem to be being replaced with gum trees. That will be a problem for the next generations.

Dot, hope the machine isn't worrying you still. xxxx

Today was another drive around and a re-visit the gardens. We had a lovely lunch in the cafe there and then went to the conservatory where there were three different videos showing. I am disappointed to say, the conservatory was closed, due to extreme weather. Yes it was hot, but not that hot.

Wont be able to return tomorrow as we are airport bound, fairly early.
Been lovely to visit Adelaide and greet to meet Dot and George

Bags are almost packed and ready to go.

Disappointment. 😩
After rescheduling my Tuesday appointment late on Monday, I woke up Tuesday to yet another cancellation message.
Low platelets again. 😢
Here was I thinking that the rescheduling meant platelets were OK…
I presume that was done for other reasons and my blood results were not available at the time.
Let’s hope NEXT Tuesday is better. 🤞🙏
Instead, we spent the day hacking up greenery strewn across the yard and throwing it into the trailer.
At least we had ONE piece of good news:
Son-&-Heir, his fiancée (it’s now official 😁) and the wonderfullest Granddaughter in the world will be visiting this weekend. 🎉🥂
Regards & God bless,
Ray

Lovely that the visitors are coming Ray!
Where do I find these platelets?
I've had the full suite of blood tests & have gone thru them but can't find the results for them. Is there another name for it in the results?
I found plenty of H & a few L but no emergency ph call so I'm guessing I'm OK.

Platelets are also called thrombocytes Bruce. They are part of what helps your blood to clot. Not sure if they show up on a regular blood test.
Back in my blood donor days, if you could donate platelets instead of plasma, the staff at the donation centre treated you like a film star. I only did it a dozen or so times, my platelets didn't separate to well.
Cheers
