Nightly Goodnight Everyone

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Bruce, if your GP hasn't been in touch, I'm thinking you are doing OK.
I probably should have said that unless you have an auto immune issue, or are a regular blood donor, you'll never know your platelet count.

Today was another drive around and a re-visit the gardens. We had a lovely lunch in the cafe there and then went to the conservatory where there were three different videos showing. I am disappointed to say, the conservatory was closed, due to extreme weather. Yes it was hot, but not that hot.

Wont be able to return tomorrow as we are airport bound, fairly early.
Been lovely to visit Adelaide and greet to meet Dot and George

Bags are almost packed and ready to go.

I'm guessing it would be the UV count, often get high to extreme UV warning here in Mannum, you can feel the sun burning your skin as soon as you step out of the shade on the extreme days ..... ya gotta wonder about the wake boarders out on the river on those days .....

Where do I find these platelets?
I've had the full suite of blood tests & have gone thru them but can't find the results for them. Is there another name for it in the results?
I found plenty of H & a few L but no emergency ph call so I'm guessing I'm OK.
Platelets aren't those little plates that come out at a fancy dinner it seems, they are what aids blood clotting so when you rip a hole in yourself, it stops you draining out ..... if you discover blood around an injury you didn't even realise you done, but it is already sealing up the hole and forming a scab, the platelets must be doing their job

Yep, that's pretty much nailed it T1.
But maybe Ray needs a good platelet count for an entirely different reason, due to the fact he is undergoing some treatment than none of us would ever wish to have.

Yes, that treatment is hard on the body, so all the other parts to repair the damage the treatment does to the areas it wasn't supposed to damage, need to be in good condition, the last thing you want is for the treatment to kill you

Are you still packing Dot? xxxx

Jon, you cheeky thing. Of course, nearly everything in the cases including the 4 pair of crocs were worn. I did have two long sleeved shirts, in case it got cold, they didn't come out of the case.

Robert, it's more important that you get healthier. It would have been great to meet you, maybe next time...

You have all had a complaint about the heat in Adelaide, well the temp on the tarmac at the airport was really hot. Every time that we ventured out of a building, boy we could feel the radiant heat. If the UV Index was so high yesterday, how come we didn't get burnt while we wandered around outside in the gardens? Not always staying in the shade, either.

Arriving back in Newy, the stairs are still the only way into or out of the planes. So I was taken down on the forklift again. Very undignified, but a hell of a lot safer than me tripping down the stairs onto the tarmac. We arrived at peak hour (as expected), so had a slow drive home and it was very hot here too. We saw a few sparks of lightning in the distance, and thankfully, that's where it stayed. No storms tonight either.

The house is scattered with half emptied suitcases and boxes of things that were delivered while we were away. Our tenant has definitely earned her cheaper rent this week. A couple of the bulky parcels were quite heavy and yes I have some SA chocs for her, just have to fine where I put them all. Haighs put them all in silver foil packages to help with the heat and really, they didn't get much heat at all. My Rav 4 was patiently waiting for us to collect at the airport and it has incredibly fast air con. So we were cool in no time.

Just heard from Dot. She is parked up at her friend Sues's place for a while. The flight to NZ was good. Her feet are playing up, but Georges legs are OK. She is in her element, surrounded by lots of animals and green green grass.
Onya Dot!

Thanks David for making the call and sharing the story. I do hope that Dot and George have a great time over there. They are both such great people.

Another hot an humid day here. No storm, but we did get a few big drops of rain last night. There is a lovely cooling breeze now, so the house is very much wide open with all the security screen doors locked, but glass doors are wide open. Gee it feel good when you can have a good bit of cool, fresh air to sleep by.

The morning was spent with me writing up all of the events for our calendars. It's amazing how many things have conflicting dates, and I have to make sure of what thing and places I have paid already to go. I printed off an A4 page with the whole year on it. Small spaces to write, but colour coded pens help a lot. Now my handbag diary, the main calendar and now the single page for the business files, are all up to date. As I pay for caravan parks or stall events, it's now easy to see straight away by the coloured ticks the events will get.

This afternoon, I was very selfish and did some internet shopping. Noni B and their posher brand have just released all their fancy dresses, with a lot of them at $14. I know that my size is always the first to go, so I spent up on a few fancy shirts and even two skirt suits that are for evening wear. I rarely wear skirts, but sometimes it is nice to get "properly dressed up"

I may have to impose a strict no internet shopping thingy for a while now.

Deb,
Spend up while you can! 💸💰
Noni B, Rivers and a couple of other chains owned by some financial mob are shutting their doors by April.
Regards & God bless,

Just have to be careful SWMBO saw a advertisement on facebook for one of the stores who are in that group - clicked on the link, added stuff to cart, tried to use PayPal to check out but kept sending us back to credit card payment.
Went direct to site through web browser, no such specials- so we reckon we dodged a scam
