Another launch goes well.
21 Starlink satellites launched.

On a computer it's easy to jump ahead & save time watching it all.
Once the stage 1 booster seperates it gets sent back home for reuse. (it lands on a ship/barge out in the ocean)
I think this one has been used 23 times so far.
Once it seperates you can see both speed & height above earth for both in the 2 bottom corners until stage one lands.

Thats a pretty good vid Bruce. Once I figured out the time clocks I ffwd to launch. 12000kmh is pretty quick. Takes a bit of getting up to speed though.
Every now and then just in dawn, in our Sth Eastern sky you can catch a glimpse of the starlink satellites as the sun catches them. First time I saw them had NFI what it was.

I'm so glad that the powers that be, have finally found a way of capturing and reusing some of that ultra expensive stuff.
There is more than enough stuff floating around 'up there' doing nothing.
The stuff that falls back to earth has been considered waste in the past. It's not like it's inexpensive.

The last one that had an "unplanned rapid disassembly" I think he called, the crap dumped in the upper atmosphere is creating a hole in the ozone layer over the US .... rather than over Aust like all the CFC's did, he is their hero after all .....
Now to get rid of all the other manufactured refrigerant pollutants and get back to hydrocarbons like the original systems ran .... give it a fancy number and it's ok now, R600 for Butane and R290 for propane .... just don't call it butane or propane .... so put an "a" on the end to make it special

If that rock does do a low orbit pass (Apophis) in 2029, it might clean a bit of it up, just by the disturbance between the moon's gravity and the Earth's gravity, either sending it into a decaying orbit and burn up on re-entry, or out of Earth's gravity and send it off to one of the other planets or into the sun https://science.nasa.gov/solar-system/a ... s/apophis/ Here's an interesting factoid, the expected date will be a Friday 13th .... not sure if over our side or the other side that has all that stuff happen a day later

The guestimation on asteroid 2024 YR4 pass in 2028 is way out at 7.5 million kms ..... as long as the gravitational fields of any of the other planets doesn't change it course ....... that one is a bit bigger and could clean up real big if it passes close enough ..... they are still speculating between it hitting Earth or the moon ..... travelling too fast and too far away yet, so it could end up anywhere really
