Terry, I am also having cataract surgery on Monday. Apparently it's not a biggie, but looking forward to seeing the results.
Still no Dot, hope she is ravaging and making havok wherever she is.xxx

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
The reason I went with the right eye for distance and the left for reading, is because I often forget my reading glasses and I'm stuck .... yesterday I bought the wrong size angle grinder, it looked like it said 250mm and a quick bit of head maths said that was a bit bigger than 9" so that would be fine ...... this morning with the glasses on, it read 150mm, 5" .... so off with the guard and I'll have to be sure to wear a glove on the right hand so I don't lose the backs of the knuckles on the 235mm cutting wheelNewcastle George wrote: ↑Thu Feb 20, 2025 8:33 am Terry, when I recently had cataract replacement they were adjusted so that my distance sight is perfect but I need glasses for reading. Just a pain in the ? when I get up from the computer and wander off with my reading glasses still on my head. However, it means that I retain my Medium Rigid licence without needing glasses to drive.![]()

The sun gets to my eyes after driving for a while, so I need sunnies anyway, and night driving is just so much easier with the dark yellow lense tint, so I'll just go to spec savers and get what I need and hopefully, won't sit on them or lose them because they will be in the handy glass holder in which ever vehicle .... I'll just have to remember which one I drove last

I can see ok with the $2.50 readers and sunnies from the servo if worst comes to worst, but no reading glasses at all ...... "can you tell me what that says" gets old real quick .......

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Don't expect miracles too soon, my right eye took a while to settle, maybe 6 weeks or more, I could see better, but the lense prescription had changed between 4 weeks when I was tested and 6 weeks when they arrived. The specialist who does the needles told me to wait until after the next 8 weekly visit and he would tell me if they had stabilised enough to do for another prescription test ....... then I lost one pair and the other pr were in the house when it burnt down .....dream4red wrote: ↑Thu Feb 20, 2025 9:53 pm Yes David, The Lockyer Valley Fruit $ Veggie coop are the one and same group.

When my missus had her cataract done, she was right from day one and has been ever since. So she's pretty happy.

Cheers

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
They told me, after having a bout of shingles, I had to wait 18mths to 2 yrs before I can have the shots, I still have the itchy eyebrows and partial loss of feeling/sensation across the right side of my head, the path the shingles used during the attack .... I'm not sure I could handle another bout without totally losing the plot ......

Terry I had the Zoster vaccination in 2022, only repeated what our GP told me.
This is the 2nd time that I have had shingles had same about 15years ago.

Shirley, I know how you feel. I had shingles on my cheek about 10-12 years ago. I was lucky that it didn't get in my eye. I hope the tablets are working for you. Get well soon.
Cheers
