WAS CRAPPY news NOW GOOD news Now Unknown News Re. Ray aka Greynomads thread

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

With a little bit if squeezing here, stretching there, squashing, flattening and pushing and pulling, she could be just like Phoenix.

Just had a report from Jennifer's new parents. (Forgot to mention her name in the first post, sorry.)
She INHALED her dinner*, investigated their back yard, left a souvenir for them, and decided she preferred living in the house… on her own bed & couch!
(They are life-long doggie people. Had Rough Coated Collies all along, but this is their first Greyhound.)

* While we were fostering her, Jennifer proved to be the world record holder for fast eating. Appetite & table manners of a Labrador!

ps. Jon,
I think you'd need more than Photoshop to make the comparison work… :P

Also, back to the original subject:
Phone call today from Albury Hospital.
They need to do another genetic profile. Not sure why. Maybe a change in my chemo… ??
Happening Monday.

CERTAINLY DOES!! :D :D :D
It took a bit of effort to house-train her, straight from racing kennels.
However, she was a quick learner.
Being a very food-orientated girl made it easier with food rewards for good outcomes. ;)

IMHO, anyone who takes the time and has the inclination to rehome any animal that was bred for racing is a bloody champion. I know quite a few ex racers that are living in someone's loungeroom or their paddock. :D :D and two big thumbs up.
Ray, apart from all that, I sincerely hope that your next round of treatment goes in your favour.
Cheers

Treatment went ahead on Wednesday (normal day, Tuesday, was already booked out) — absolutely normal, thankfully.

Have had a few reports from Jennifer’s new parents.
She’s settling in well, and behaving much as she did in our care.
Husband’s brother is staying with them for a while after a short stay in hospital. Jennifer has taken up guard/care duties alongside his bed! She has temporarily abandoned her own bed, sleeping on the floor in his bedroom. ❤️❤️
(Even though in her new home she’s allowed on the furniture.)
Dogs can sense when people need some care and love. She did the same for me a couple of times when I was less than 100%. ❤️❤️ 🐕

Chemo Day next Tuesday. Oh, BLISSSS!!! (not)
Let’s hope that Monday’s blood test numbers are good, 🤞 and chemo can go ahead.
Handling treatment OK. No serious side effects, just minor annoyances.
First couple of treatments I was sent home with a supply of puke bags. They’re still sitting in the bathroom drawer — unused. Handy to have, though, ‘just in case’…
The nurses don’t bother with the bags anymore, even when I’m undergoing treatment.
I’m also enrolled in a genetic profiling research program being run by UNSW through Peter Mac in Melbourne. Research is a linear study which will continue until 2035!
Not sure it will help me, but the info gained might help someone else in the future.

Aren't you going to hang around until after the study finishes, at least to see the results ;) 8-)
All the best for the blood tests and next lot of treatment that all goes well .....

T1,
I’d like to, but the indications are 50/50.
I reckon I’ll just put my thumb on the scales and see what happens. 🤔😁

At least I now know why the hospital wanted to do another genetic test… 😉
