I would like to be there when they launch one..

Re: Starlink & Satellites
No doubt we'll hear all about it, so long as the result is what they had hoped for. Otherwise, they will still be analysing results.
I just watched the link that Bow put up, and thought 'they are all riding on a bomb, both up and back.'
Those astronauts must have immense intestinal fortitude.

Re: Starlink & Satellites
Apparently there is a startup looking at putting up a better and better priced satellite system to compete with Starlink, but they have a unique launch system ...... this is video of the test launch
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2gWd18z3lM and a bit about them https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SpinLaunch and this one from more recent times https://www.google.com.au/search?q=spin ... SaKoQ,st:0

Re: Starlink & Satellites
Yes there are more & more communication sats being launched by quite a few companies now.
Even Musk is sending competitors sats up there.
I noticed that Starlink sats are being more & more one on one units. Like obviously subscription ones.
They call it direct to phone.
Telstra has followed Optus in signing a “straight-to-mobile” deal with Starlink that will allow users in remote areas to send texts via satellite. The agreement is unique because it does not require customers to obtain specific hardware and will work on all compatible handsets.
NZ sent up their first one a while ago so how hard can it be? Don't think it included any Australian donations but who would know?
South Australia has one up there so watch out all you backyard growers!! They reckon it's for weather & mapping..... yeah right.
Big Brother is watching you!

Re: Starlink & Satellites
Well for all you sexist amongst us I have some big news!
6, yes SIX women all going jammed in a capsule into space!!
Can you imagine it?
Who would have the last word? hehe
I think this launch is NOT by a Musk rocket but by the owner of Amazon! Competition!
(Its largest individual shareholder is founder and former CEO Jeff Bezos)
One is Katy Perry! Hey let's have a sing-along?
I wonder if she'll sing her song called "I kissed a girl"?
About 4 hours to launch!
