Re: Our "New to Us" Winnie
No beer for a good nights sleep you say ...... I doubt I'd live longer, but sure would seem that way
I've found battling through the afternoon nap does wonders for my first sleep, I get maybe 2 hrs then, read a book on the phone for an hr ... or until the black parts between the lines and paragraphs start forming pictures or stand out more than the print, or I realise I've closed both eyes, not just one the aid the focusing, and I've started to formulate the stories continuation in my head ...... or I wake myself up because I've dropped the phone, then I get between 10 mins and an hrs sleep, then the cycle repeats ...... I've read a lot of books
Then come 7am and I'm tired, roll over for another 5 mins and wake up at 10am
I think my body has adapted to night shift, sleep during the day and awake all night .....

Re: Our "New to Us" Winnie
T1, first off, apologies for hijacking your Winnie thread to talk about sleep.
If I could trade off not having a beer or a red for one day, for a good nights sleep I'd be in like a shot. But it's more like 4 or 5 days of no grog or coffee, for 1 good sleep. As I tell my GP, I'm sick and tired of feeling sick and tired. Flock covid.
I think it's like what Bon Jovi said, live when I'm alive, sleep when I'm dead.
I've already outlived a lot of my mates. God bless 'em.

Re: Our "New to Us" Winnie
It might be the ghosts of XXXX past Dave
If I miss my 100mg of Sertraline each day, the dreams about things going wrong that just get worse no matter what I do, will wake me up with such a feeling of dreed that I really don't want to go to sleep again. If I take them any time after lunch, I have no hope of going to sleep, they act like taking speed .... so it is a bit of a fine balance ..... then the neck ache, pain in both knees and back, a Norflex and two Osteo Ease help with the pain, but the eyes have difficulty focusing, so reading for hrs on end can't happen ..... Endone is a take rarely one and a real battle to keep any hidden away from Margaret so she can get some sleep .....
Seems sleep is for the young ..... maybe they don't have a past, real or imaginary, to come back to haunt them
T1 Terry
EDIT: Just thinking about the ones I've outlived, I'm guessing some of them might get a god's blessing .... but others, not so much ..... I've had it said more than once by a number of people who probably don't even know each other "You probably have died yet because neither side in the after life are willing to take the risk of letting you in"

My body has adapted a serious reaction to even small doses, if it even looks vaguely eatable, it gets consumed .... developing even more serious problems

Back on topic
Some progress photos of the trailer
This is the yet to be molested side showing the position of the front railing and sort of shows how the front of the guard is welded to the frame This is showing how the guard was mounted on the non molested side
This is what happens when trying to add a piece so the guard can be welded outside the rail ..... tricky with flux core mig wire because each weld adds slag and must be removed or the weld will have slag inclusions .... as you can see in the vertical up weld, I hadn't quite mastered it at that point Not too bad eh .... now to either fix of hide the not so good welds This is the molested side with the front railing removed and the guard cut away from the trailer frame
This is to show where the front wheel retaining well will be positioned using parts cut off, this will go over the tilt locking pin two pieces welded to the frame for the inner leg and the outer leg over the rusty spot where the leg was cut off .... it extends forward till in would be touching the cage .... but that will be removed .... This is looking up the molested side to show where the guard will be mounted on the outside face of the trailer frame

Re: Our "New to Us" Winnie
Looking for a chisel to break some of the welds, started attacking the tool boxes I rescued from the house with a tyre lever and block hammer ...... nothing much left in the top tool box, started on the bottom toolbox but no luck with the tyre lever and block hammer ..... cut the front off the drawers .... part way into the second drawer .... crackling noises and it's getting hotter behind me .... set the dry grass and weeds on fire.
Can't stamp it out, walk over to the tap, no hose fitting, find the tap with the fitting, connect up the hose, get it untangled, walk over and put the fire out ...... no panic ... but no thought of keeping it under control and burning off the weeds either, just put it out ..... turned the tap off ...... now I'm shaking that bad I could put a head on water ..... No hint of panic or anything like it, didn't even attempt to run to the tap ..... legs are still suffering, but now I have the shakes ...... might have been a sign of beer o'clock, halfway through a Hahn Super Dry and the shakes seemed to have settled ..... no urge to go back out there yet though ......

T1,
That’s why the firies don’t like people using angle grinders near dry grass…
