2hr 18min estimated & over North Europe. If it goes a bit/lot over then it'll be closer to Perth orbit.
See the red dot for estimate?

Re: Starlink & Satellites
Most of the tracking websites crashed.
Anyway the Cosmos didn't crash on that pass.
It is now South of SA on it's wide pass.
The thing is doing a big oplictical circle & only passes closest to earth on it's passes.
It got down to about 123 km but is now out to 170km. Shortly it'll do another pass & the gravity might grab it.
It did go over about where Tanks lives in WA last pass but next pass will be way West of Australia.
I found another tracking site & didn't need to register to use it.
http://www.satflare.com/track.asp?q=6073#TOP
Not sure if that'll work but the site is satflare.com & then select Cosmos 482 & wait for page/map to load.
Now it's getting lower again & heading for USA!!

Re: Starlink & Satellites
Russian built, strong enough to withstand a re-entry fire .... headed for the USA ..... might be more than a blood capsule over the ear this time, they won't shoot that sucker down
An off hand way for Russia to get back in the good books?

Bruce, please tell me if it comes down in Wyalkatchem and I'll go and have a look at it for you.BruceS wrote: ↑Sat May 10, 2025 4:49 pm Most of the tracking websites crashed.

I'm now 87 years old, having experienced another birthday, and I'm still living in WA, single (gave up looking), white hair, no teeth, no money, no worries.
I plan to have another birthday next year.

Tanks, if it crashes back to earth in Wylie, you'll know. It will make more than just a little bit of a kerfuffle..

Here is a great site.

Re: Starlink & Satellites
Yes I'm monitoring that website but I noticed it said ............
WARNING: This object is expected to decay around Sat, 10/05/2025 07:17:00 +/- 3 hours UTC (these predictions are provided by Joseph Remis).
Click here to see the bands where the satellite may reenter according to these data (further predictions might be issued later)
So I'm not sure how accurate a prediction is. I guess the recent election prediction might mean "very accurate"?
Last pass was at 118.7 km altitude.
I read where someone reckon 100km the atmosphere is dense enough to reduce the speed & the end is close.
Also I believe the lower the altitude, the stronger the gravity pull.

And if that's correct and nobody got hurt, then all is well.
