Nightly Goodnight Everyone

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Yippee, Tanks has delivered me some good news Our Bombers won against the Tigers. Our visitors have left the building and headed for a warm bed. Now I am watching the BOB's and for once it is not raining for them but as they head to the hills the roads get rather skinny = prangs. 55ks to go.Did a bit of gardening and some washing but the rest of the time was spent talking and solving the worlds woes with Col and Jenny  They are heading off tomorrow to parts unknown. Has been good to catch up with them after some years.Might just toodle off to a warm bed to finish the race now that the new tv can get Viceland. Stay safe everyone and goodnight to all x :D Goodnight Nigel x :D

Hope your BOBs were as entertaining as you hoped for Dot xxxx

We officially had 5 inches of rain last night, and probably more than could get into the little tube. It was a harrowing night. The noise was incessant and I just could not get to sleep. The power station sounded like it was running some giant fans around, on and off for half an hour at a time. As soon as I dropped off to sleep the fan would clunk off or on again. So not happy Jan. Had an arvy nap, so much friendlier now.

We have just realised that tonight and the next few nights are king tides. Well, it was about 15 years ago, on June long weekend, that we had similar weather. Our yard was under a lot of water and the weekend left with a huge tanker crashed into Stockton Beach and power outages for about a week. So far, we have not had the same amount of decimation, my shed is still dry and no power outages have impacted the area at all. We do think one of our close neighbours has been doing a lot of remediation work to her drainage systems to get some of the groundwater off the street and back to the lake, instead of through our yard. I rang her today to thank her. It's probably one of the few times that I have been happy to have a rich neighbour. She usually tries to use her money to just barrel through everyone. I suspect we infuriate her, because while we don't have lots of dough, we just insist on doing things right and she rarely gets her own way with us.

Hope you are all staying warm
nighty night xxx

Deborah the BOB's were as good as ever esp cuz my boy came 2nd again (# 181) Our visitors left at lunch time today heading to Yorke Peninsula, hope they get some nice days down there as they did here. Boy you sure have had enough rain, today the wind swirled this way then that way but still no rain as yet, maybe that will come throughout the night. Looking at the BOB's the sky is looking like rain for the poor buggers. I was the wheelbarrow pusher today, G did the loading of the mulch and I did the rest due to G still not feeling so good. Tomorrow I will move the bus back to it's loading position and come hell or high water I will have her all set for take off somewhere for a few days before a longer trip later on. Also going to get the painter to come around to settle on the final colour. 152ks to go and so I am off for a shower then supper then bed to watch the finish. Stay safe if out and about and if unwell get better soon. Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Vic A x :D

Transferred three barrow loads of firewood from the stack behind my Playpen to inside the garage/storeroom today.
Meant to do it coupla daze ago, but felt too weak/tired, so postponed the task.
Yesterday the 8 month drought finally broke. Rained so long it was too wet to check the rain gauge yesterday.
During a short break in the downpour I raced out (relatively speaking) and found we had 38mm over 48 hrs!
The firewood will now take a coupla daze to dry so I can use it! 🙄
Shoulda made the effort when it was dry… 🤔😢

Totally stuffed right now, and tomorrow we’re taking the Girls to Albury to take part in the last Million Paws Walk, so it’s goodnight from me. And it’s goodnight from him. 🤪
G’nite Dottie.
Regards & God bless,
Ray

Dot, reckon you will sleep well tonight, after pushing wheelbarrow around. Take care mate xxxx

As Ncle George has said, the sun was shining today....sort of. Was very weak, but with very little cloud cover, it was wonderful. A load of washing was almost dried in the sunshine. That felt really good. I had a sleeping day, after yesterday's poor sleep. I slept like Dot, until after 11 and did very little of any consequence all day. Just one of those days that I would consider a write off.

The pending doom of the king tides was more like a non event. The tide wasn't that high and no real signs of the lake entering our yard. So it was a good non event.

Following such a dry time today, we still plan to go to the big smoke tomorrow to visit the fam for the 21st celebrations. It's like organising a military event these days. The coffee packs and thermos are packed with the water bottle in the freezer, ready to go. I know that it's a 2 hour drive from here, but he really seems to need a full picnic packed, just to get there and back. Not my planning, but he is covering all bases he says. Bet the thermos is not needed etc.

sweet dreams xxx

The Million Paws Walk was a great day out.
Last week Kelly cut her hind paw doing zoomies around the backyard, and after a trip to the vet, some medication and foot-bathing she is much better, although still limping slightly.
That’s my excuse for doing only 1km of the walk with her.😉
SWMBO did the full 4km with Megs. 😳
Both girls immediately went to their beds on our return home (surprise!), and funnily enough, didn’t demand their usual afternoon walkies.
They are both still sleeping. Had to be woken for dinner.

When I put Kelly’s MPW scarf on her, I’m sure her chest puffed out and she held her head a little higher!
Anyway, she didn’t want me to take it off tonight. 😁

ps. I wasn’t too flash when we got home either. Had a 45 minute snooze before resuming household assistant duties.
😉

I'm now 87 years old, having experienced another birthday, and I'm still living in WA, single (gave up looking), white hair, no teeth, no money, no worries.
I plan to have another birthday next year.

Dot still busy watching some fellas bums somewhere?   or in a gravel pit hiding from us all ? xxxx

Well done Shirley. Don't know why we get more rain than you, just weird huh? Our jetty is about a foot underwater too, looks really odd with the railings floating above the water (luckily they are still attached to the main walkway).

The sun was almost shining, so we did drive the to the West of Sydney for the big birthday party. We enjoyed our day with crazy family and even better we were all there today. We were concerned that some would not get through to the event, but all have the same drying out experiences that we are having.
We came home in pitch blackness. Think the moon is behind a cloud, but it was so dark with only few lights on the freeways. I was grateful that his nibs is happy to drive in such darkness. We were both on wild life spotting duty tho.

Probably will have a Dot day tomorrow...sleep in and do little. ;)

night all xxx

Definitely sleeping somewhere warm Dot? xxxx

As suggested, we both had a Dottie day today. We slept until after 11 and had a very quiet day.
The weather is showing just what sort of winter we can expect. It was freezing. Some sunny patches, some heavy rainfall and a lot of wind full of ice. I am so glad that this is a stay at home week. The weather doesn't make you want to go out and explore, that's for sure.

We did some inside jobs and very little at that. Don't really expect this week to have too many exciting moments.
