Margaret is a big girl now, she can dress herself ;) Actually, she has 2 mths supply of all the dressing stuff to take with us.
She just wants verification from whoever has been doing the dressings, not sure if it's local or Murray Bridge Country Health, where they have been taking a photographic record of the progress.
This way, she can continue to send them photos while we are away so they can see if things are still progressing well, or if problems are coming up and she needs to attend a professional service.
They can be in contact with them to let them know just what has happened so far ..... and between them, decide what should be done, rather waiting 2 mths and finding out things should have been done long ago, and now she might lose the foot .....

As far as the travel plans, isn't that what the book is running, where we are going first etc ;)

Most of the box and shelves around the inverter are finished now, just need to join the two bits together to make the top shelf .... had to wait for Margaret and Brian to return from Murray Bridge with the dowels and PVA glue, so tomorrow the shelf will be assembled and coated in Tung oil, so it looks like the other bits ..... then start on refitting the curtain pelmet by drilling out the holes and attaching it with screws and nut through to the inside of the cupboard ..... seems luck had a lot to do with it staying attached, the wood screws into the ply cupboard lower sheet weren't actually holding it up, only the side pelmets via the bottom screw ..... and it was stripped out as well .....

Didn't realise just how much mucking around there was getting bits trimmed out so it all fitted in neat with no gaps behind it ..... eat the whole day, hopefully I can finish the tailer tomorrow, so I can cross those jobs off the list ..... and add the fixing the shutter windows driver mechanism so the louvres don't flap like a Gypsie wagon as we drive down the road

Hopefully, today will be finishing this bench top by sanding it and rounding the corners and edges, then oiling it and fit it ..... still tossing up between dowels to hold it located or long screws ( not that kind Dottie) and cover the tops with putty or something ......

Trailer just needs a second coat of paint, given up on the step idea, not enough time, the number plate fitted and the wiring under the right hand guard secured ..... and probably find a spot to weld on the spare wheel bracket but that might just get ratchet strapped on under the MG along with the ramps .....

Then the radiator flush and new coolant, find the battery to battery connection solenoid and wire that ..... and ...... all the other myriad of jobs that probably won't get done before we leave ......

At least we don't have to pack food and clothes

T1,
Re: Dowels vs screws & putty.
GO DOWELS!
Putty always changes colour over time.
- If you use light putty in light wood, the putty will darken.
- If it’s dark putty in dark wood, the putty fades.
Stands out like the proverbial canine genitalia.

90 degree angle brackets like they attach kitchen bench/sinks?
Or countersunk phillips screws & then down the track pop some of those little plastic button inserts in.

Dowels it is then  No where left to put brackets Bruce, barely enough room where it needs to attach for air or light to fit ;) so it needs to attach either through the top or from the underside of the top but still allow the top to be removed to allow the whole assembly to be removed to access the inverter It's really just to stop it floating around when we're driving or get bumped off getting in and out of the door.

Trailer is now painted to the degree it will be painted before we go, that was as much as two rattle cans of white gloss would cover

Forgot to add in the new sheets had to be washed as well as the sheets that are on the bed now .... and a whole basket full of washing

Margaret has sanded the shelf top and I've puttied up the bits I got carried away cutting out to fit around stuff ..... a cabinet maker I am not :?

I think the rattling flapping louver windows will be stick down using double sided tape for now, I'll try to get the pelmets around the window above the new shelf and pull out computer table (mine, all mine whahahaha) so the night and day blind can go back up ..... I kinda doubt I'll get the pelmet sides back on that need trimming to fit around the new lounge .....
Judging by the nervous shake the computer has, I'm guessing the washing machine is going through the last spin cycle ..... back to it

T1,
HINT: Only use glue on the bottom half of the dowels when you insert them into the cabinet base.
Gluing dowels into the benchtop is just ASKING for one to snap off when you’re putting it down after removal!
Then you have to either drill it out to replace it (and invariably misalign the hole) or sand it back and put the replacement alongside and go through the rigmarole of locating the matching hole. 🕳️ And you never get it quite right.
Experience speaks. 🙄

ps. The Hammer Shop has dinky little brass doovers that drop into the dowel holes and have a protruding central point which marks the underside of the piece you want attached, so you know where to drill. 👍

Brian was going to get them for me when he picked up the glue and dowels ..... but he decided to just tell me about them instead

In a moment of stupidity, I decided to weld the spare wheel holder onto the trailer on the right hand side aligned with the front of the extension piece I added for the wheel to slot into ..... gunna tack it there and make sure I can get the door open, otherwise it will have to go on the left hand side.
The advantage of it going in the right hand side, it gives me a guide and the other end the anchor a piece of 50mm sq on to the rail to give me a 100mm step for getting in and out of the car while it's on the trailer.
The reason for attaching it to the tilt platform is to get the platform to tilt down before the wheels go into the extension pieces with the ramps added ..... it is a tad unnerving for it to all happen at the same time, feels like I've driven over the front again ....

Some photos to go with the mind boggling descriptions
The new piece of timber and the original shelf piece were tight together last night :?
shelves and air fryer cupboard 3.jpg
Even though the two pieces of board don't look like they meet up flush at the edge in the photo, they do, but I certainly need to clean a lot of that white adhesive stuff off the shelf joints ....
After saying there wasn't any room to add brackets, it seems there is plenty at each end ... maybe I'll make triangle shaped pieces so the attach to the shelf walls and the underside of the top, each end and both sides ....
shelves and air fryer cupboard 4.jpg
The top shelf fitted perfectly around the edge of the fold up piece of the bench that allows the table to slide away, but now it stands about 5 mm high and looks crap in the photo Maybe I can lower the back of it to make that look better
shelves and air fryer cupboard 5.jpg
Wish I hadn't taken photos of it now, I was real pleased with the end result before I saw the photos :(
