A lot of us have homes we spend some time in. Discussions can be about any topic that may be of interest that you can think of... renovations, purchases, expenses, etc, etc

I/we.. put a hook in the wall to take the weight off the gas hose... sofar it's working...I had thought of putting a loop in it as well Terry...and wire around it... but I thought make it simple first... sofar so good 😁
I finally made a boo boo... after measuring a dozen or so times I cut a piece of off cut to fit the new 300mm cupboard... after cutting and bringing inside for a fitting check...all was good... till we both noticed....I had the grain of the wood the wrong way round 🤬🤬😡.
Guess I'm not as perfect as I thought 😁🤔🤔
All is ok I still have off cut to do it right...I hope..
Today I will be finally sanding... famous last words 😁.

Any more suitable sized wood Bernie? Maybe make that boo boo a heat resistant surface over the top eg stainless steel,saw the same thing in a house next to the stove and it also had a small tail around it to stop pots falling off.

Yes Dot I still had enough timber to fix my mistake 😇
As promised I finally got to do some sanding, and I/ her have put a first coat of stain on two of the benches, more coats today I hope...

That doesn't look like Ray time, or very good odds to be placing a bet :roll: Did you employ a multi tool to cut through the Sikka? That was how we removed the solar panel mounts from the motorhome roofs before gluing down long rails to fit a lot more panels ....

No Terry I don't own a working multi tool thingy 😡 besides it wouldn't have worked because the bench was under the tiles... after hours of using Stanley knives and chisels I ended up using a old wind up jack..a long piece of timber to limit the force in one spot...I had a fitting that fitted the jack and will a piece of timber from the jack to the front of the bench...I used my ratchet handle and it after lots of cohesion it finally popped 😁😇🤔
