Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!
Deb,
If you ask REEEELY nicely, T1 might be persuaded to build you a gizmo with either a solar panel and/or a couple of batteries with a looong extension lead that you could plug into your heater fan.
Otherwise, I’d be visiting your local camping store to buy a small generator to park outside the kitchen window… unless you know a brickie who could build you an open fireplace.
The drawback with the latter is that firewood is expensive in the Big Smoke, whereas I can get it cheaper from local farmers with trees surplus to requirements.
Regards & God bless,
Ray

Ray the farmers here are not permitted to sell or give firewood away, they can give some to their family. We scab wood from the tip for 0. Saw the bit of the storm you poor people in NSW are having thrown at you wow not nice at all just keep warm and safe. Today G had the steroid jab in his L) shoulder with no fainting and then off to the city to see the back man. As usual he was running late by 1 hr but the person he was seeing needed the extra time. Guess what? he remembered me and we had a laugh or to before he turned his attention to G. Sending G for an MRI and see him again in 2 weeks. This Dr is no gung ho cut em up guy, the end decision after he explains every aspect of the choices he gives you and the possible outcomes of each. I also have a referral to see him along with G's next visit on the 16th July., beats the normal waiting of 3-6 mths. Today was a lovely sunny day but the weather person says it will rain over the weekend . We got home late as it was school get out time 4x4 and blond women drivers everywhere Took the receipt for those yucky kebabs into the shop and there was no worries, got the $ back. We are knackered, I have my usual monthly GP appointment tomorrow and another few bags of stuff for the op shop. Then shopping on the way home. We have noticed that the roads around here have deteriorated quite a lot since all the extra housing estates have popped up everywhere. Hope all the sickies and disabled for now are improving. Off to a nice hot shower now then a nice warm bed so Goodnight everyone x Goodnight Swisslulu x

Boy Dot, you both fitted a lot into today. Hope you get a good sleep time soon. xxxx
I love all the solar suggestions, but you are all forgetting the important factor here. You need the sun to bloody well shine before your battery gets any power. We have had such a tiny amount of sunshine this week, that just to keep the fridges and a light on, was enough for us. Yes we were cold, but an extra blanket made a good difference.
Hoping that Shirley has some electricity tonight. It's again so cold that the bedsheets would be crispy cold. Electric blanket is saving my sanity at the moment.
The lair was a miserable place today, we watched the tide come up over our jetty and happily it stayed on the lake side of the fence. Not much happening. I am just getting stressed out by the caravan mob refusing to answer my calls and not connecting by email at all.
Good early morning Deborah unfortunately we are still without power, the promised reconnection at 7.30 didn’t eventuate, no show 3 days midday the lines been down, Ausgrid is hopeless.

Trade one of the cars in on an MG EV and use the V2L system to recharge the battery. Every few days you can drive to a slower EV charger that is much cheaper, or do the shopping at a place that has a free EV charger, and then you can bring a battery full of energy to back up the lack of sun.
One thing you can be sure of, these power outages will only get worse, not better, they haven't done anything to improve the system vulnerability, nor have they renewed it since it was first set up, they have just reduced their workforce to save a few $$ and improve their profits ..... an already over worked and aging system is not going to fix itself

To block your number on a call by call basis when you're making a call from your home phone service, first dial 1 8 3 1 and then dial the number that you want ... Try it on a friend..... works for me
It did it again, wrote a longish post and it flew away Goodnight one and all

Dot, you are giving me a good laugh mate. What's a home phone? Got rid of ours ten years ago. The only calls we got on it were from cranks .Hope you don't get avoided by the weird atmospheric thingys for too many posts . xxxx
Thanks all for the advice. Yes I will try using his phone next time, that's not too hard to do.
Terry, too much money for me to buy another car, especially as we are very happy with the two that we currently drive. I do not ever want anything to do with lithium batteries again. LG have put me off becoming any more progressive that I already am. One lithium battery for the solar outside the house and no more ever again. I am totally unconvertable to your way of powering the world.
I did finally receive the email from the caravan mob and was very impressed with the prices on their list of needed parts. They were at a reasonable cost and very close to what I know are trade prices. They rang this morning at 9am. They are still claiming that they have not been able to source any rims for the van that will work with the current set up. I am starting to just cry. We are also regretting having the axles changed when we had the van upgraded. Our suspicion is that the wheels probably came off someone else's bus. He seemed a bit shady at the time, but it's too late now for going back to him. His son is running the whole business now, so no hope of getting any real help from them.
