Morning Dot, morning Deborah. It's been cool enough here to require the use of bedsocks overnight. We don't have electric blankets as we usually don't need anything like that. You can feel the cold rolling in just as soon as the sun start to go down. It's even a bit fresh here this morning.
Cheers

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Last evening I attended our Presentation dinner, finally received my trophy & prize money for being the ladies major singles champion, to top it off I won the barrel draw $500, each time we play bowls we receive an entry coupon for the barrel, needless to say I am feeling very happy.

Congratulations Shirley, I knew we had a winner, looks like your posh new balls did you proud.
All that time in the freezing weather you pulled it off.
Another day of nothingness for me. Had a nice chat with Bobk's widow Lyn, she is doing pretty good but still has her bad days mixed with the good ones. I will see her at Chucks next month Had a strange tea tonight, I think G might be pregnant, he wanted spring rolls and chips and so be it. Was rather windy again last night but no rain. Watching the BOB's and when the motorbike shows the bikes going down hill I tend to get squeezey. Beautiful countryside though. Brian has just had his supper so it's his pill time and also my bed time. G is snoring but my feet are cold so that will shut him up
Take care one and all. Goodnight everyone x

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Dot, you asked about a new stick vaccuum and I forgot to answer you. I replaced my dyson with a shark and couldn't be happier. I prefer the cheaper model to the one that does the emptying in it's own case. I don't think it is anywhere near as good as the cheaper model. Try to remember the telly add where the guy used the vac to lift up a bowling ball. That was for the shark. I hope this helps you, xxxx
David, yes this is the coldest winter that we have had on the Central Coast. I am down to wearing old sloppy joes that have not been out of the drawers for a very long time and even worse, I am wearing singlets. They haven't been worn since we moved here. I knew that there could come a day when needed, but heck it's bloody cold.
Shirley, that's a pretty impressive trophy. Well done on the wins, you deserve it for all the times that you have managed to get out of a warm bed, when the rest of us had stayed in the warm. xxx
Today was a nostalgia food day here. I tried to buy some pommy fish paste from aldi when the had their annual Brit week specials. They didn't bring any out this year, so I decided to improvise. I hunted out an old recipe that I used a long time ago to make my own fish paste. Yes, it was just as good as the pommy version. Brought back visions of my childhood. I am only part pommy, but fish paste on toast was a frequent breakfast in our house. So this meal felt like home.
Next was a request from his lordship to make the old porcupine meatballs. That was just a recipe that I decided to wing. Bad luck, I overestimated the amount of rice needed. The meat balls were a bit of a mess, but the flavour was delicious. Some left overs for tomorrow nights dinner and another packed away in the freezer for whenever.

Thanks Dot & Deborah, the big trophy is the perpetual one I brought it home to show the kids I get to keep the small one in the blue box, I’ll take it back to the trophy showcase at the club when the novelty wears off
I really enjoy playing bowls & the camaraderie amongst the members.
Today definitely felt warmer with the beautiful sunshine & lighter wind, I did have a woollen jumper & track pants on all day, tomorrow is predicted to reach 19c.
Goodnight

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Congratulations Shirley, on your club championship. You have done yourself proud and you're in the money too.
I've woken up with heartburn, and I can only blame myself. I had a sausage roll and some spring rolls at the footy today.
There has been a cold south wind blowing all day, not very pleasant, but it was almost bearable when the sun was out.
I see you're still awake Shirley. I hope you can get some sleep.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Congratulations on both wins Shirley, maybe the money will buy you a few nights sleep ..... I've found 2 panadol Osteo-ese and a Norflex give me a reasonable nights sleep with a lot less tossing and turning, might be worth a try, the Norflex is a prescription medication, so you'll have to ask the doctor for a script for them. It just steadies up the nerve signals, stops cramps and leg pain, and in my case, neck pain .... although I've had to sleep with neck collar on as well for the last few nights

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
I was forced to move back into the house tonight as G took the bed sheets of the bus bed and took the loo cassette out and turned off and emptied the fridge so I really had no choice. The tile cleaner is coming next Monday and then all should be nice and clean and refreshed. Next will be the replacing of the shade cloth around the pergola as it is starting to show it;s age of 25yrs. No BOB's tonight rest day but the next week will be in the high mountains so will be good, We got some rain tonight but nothing to worry about. No worries about the stick vac Deborah, G got one from Aldi and as he is the one that uses it it is on his head but so far so good. I love my sloppy joes and tracky pants in this weather don't care what I look like .Did 4 loads of washing done and hung out under cover. Going to try out the new slow cooker with a stew hmmmm. Off to bed now, will I be able to sleep in the bed now after the bus bed? Brian is already curled up on his bed but will cuddle up with me when all the lights are off
Goodnight everyone x
