Well, that buggered the Tulsa reference then, but I got close on the name. Polka Tulk Blues Band .... think they might have been into the drugs even back then to come up with a name like that I remember they were struggling as a blues band, I thought the name and direction change was more to get a piece of the action the devil theme that seemed to be big at the time, the name choice was more related to seeing reference to the movie and that was part of the cashing in thing ......
Yeah, NP, I'd forgotten the fact they were a British band originally, like some many others, it was Iron Butterfly that was the US origin heavy metal band .... I don't think there are any original members of that band still alive

Given his diet of s€x, dr*gs and rock’n’roll, I’m very surprised he made it into his 70s!
On his TV show he seemed to be either permanently inebriated, on dr*gs, or brain damaged.

Another rock star who didn’t know when to quit…
When you're doing something you love which gives you and others so much pleasure, you never quit. The joy and satisfaction you receive when watching people react to your music and then wanting you to keep playing, to congratulate and hear you again, can't be surpassed in my opinion. But it can be very tiring especially after 4 hours, which is a tough workout in itself most don't realise.
Of course the lifestyle of a muso is fraught with the dangers of substance abuse, it's a creative art and a number of substances tend to increase the creative output of many and can vouch for that. The trick is to not get to sucked in and rely upon those substances that helped you at an early stage of your career, many can't get out of the cycle especially if they neglect their health requirements and that's why those surviving are mostly vegetarian/vegan.
Dot, Keith Richards has regular full blood transfusions and does have a healthy diet, as do the others in the Stones. Paul McCartney has been a vegetarian for many decades as is Ringo and it's the same for all who survive in the industry for decades. I gave up grog and dope a long time ago when knew it wasn't helping but harming my health and it didn't make a difference to the music output when I stopped. No different to the average person, look after your health with good diet and lifestyle and you live and enjoy longer.
However the music that comes out of stoned jamm sessions is rather cool and have been known to indulges in a dope biscuit when partying with other muso friends, luckily that's less than once a year and the music is really cool innovative and enjoyable.
Ozzie tried hard to give it up, but like a true muso took it to the end and would have died happy to have performed again. It's very hard to forget the words of songs you've played hundreds of times, I hear songs haven't heard or played for decades and yet remember all the lyrics and would be happy to end it on stage, as that would be the ultimate performance, hopefully
I had to stop the full blood changes at around 50, alcohol was just getting too expensive, so I just made do with the same old blood and topped it up with alcohol
The lungs stopped the smoko, still enjoyed the brownies but the grocery bill was getting out of hand .... so that had to stop .... unfortunately, the eating didn't and I've put on around 30kg since those days .....
Become a Vegetarian or Vegan, it might feel like I lived longer, but it would be just waiting to die, although I do enjoy a good vegetarian salad with a thick rare steak .... so I might be part way there

That depends on how you hear and understand music, Sgt pepper was the first concept album, which introduced innovative production, writing, composition, multi tracking and of course the first psychedelic aspect of music. It was the introduction to how music of the era developed and evolved and was brilliant in all it outcomes, the content was unique for the time reflecting the real world and of course introducing a totally new approach to album covers and their content. It was a work of art in all ways.
Then of course there's the music, which was so different to what was available, especially the cross key innovations to merge different songs into one song, using different keys, or just changing key in the middle of a song and if you listen to it, you find some works had 3-4 different keys changes and that's hard to do and get a positive result. They were already experimenting with cross key songs, but Sgt Pepper cracked it brilliantly and they were stoned throughout the process and opened up a new style and musical pattern. They introduced real feel into the music that people could relate to and people loved it.
The majority of popular music has always been very simple, 2-3 chords mostly 12 bar variations and it's the same today because the popular musical audience doesn't get the technicality of complex music, like contemporary innovative jazz. They just want the music to give them something to relate to and moves them emotionally, which is an excellent expectation.
But the Beatles changed all that with Sgt pepper and used orchestration and many different instruments to create their sound, including dubbing, looping and all with 4 track systems. Today anyone can write music and have as many tracks and effects as they want, the bealtes created effects in the studio by experimentation, all whilst stoned. Most people don't realise most classical works were written when drunk, out of it on opioids and probably dope, but it's the outcome that matters not the condition of the artist.
Today most pop music is pure junk, all electronic and now Ai. You can check that on youtube, where there's heaps of Ai created music and vocals, but when you really listen to it, it's bland no feel and looped rhythms, not spontaneous or creative at all and rather repetitive. It all depends on your musical appreciation and to me all music is worthwhile if it gets you going, music is the language of the soul and of course the universe is just one big evolving musical creation.
I’ve listened to the musical sounds from space, from the sun, planets etc and it's pretty amazing stuff, but wouldn't play it at a party in my home as it's pretty deep and could be unnerving to some as the universe moves at a different time to humans and we don't understand that movement or timing, because it's constantly evolving but very subtly. Something I don't understand but accept the reality.
