WA information needed

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

WA information needed

Post by Jim »

We need advice on the best time, weatherwise, to travel from NSW to WA.

We want to travel up the west coast from Perth to Karratha, then return to spend time in the south west of the state and Esperance (or vice versa).

We want to avoid the hottest weather as most of our accommodation will be spent free camping.

Will appreciate any advice. Thanks.

leave now, and get to Carnarvon in the next few weeks. Slowly head north till mid September, then turn round and come slowly back down, arriving Perth mid- November. It should be safe then to head back to NSW or go to Esperance and points south.
You will struggle to find accomodation in Karratha, would suggest Cleaverville, or 40mile beach south of Karratha. I would go a bit further up the coast as well, theres heaps to see. Going that way mid July

Pack your bags now Jim!
This time of the year there are quite commonly Easterly winds blasting through the gap between Melb & Tassie.
Some times they do continue across the Bight as well.
So that would put you up in the vacinity of Karatha in the winter & back down in the tall timber country for summer.
